7/10/2009 | touche | 5/5 | Only got to try the board for a few days, but it ran well, and had a surprisingly short bootup time compared to the Vanilla X58. |
7/10/2009 | metal_god69 | 3/5 | I would not pay the price tag for this. It is fun, but $ could be spent better else where, say a new GPU. |
7/10/2009 | soychulo | 2/5 | Didn't notice any real world gains over my EVGA x58-included NICs. The Voip feature was interesting but seemed limited. Must everyone on the LAN or in the party have a Killer NIC to utilize this? For the price I can't see a way to justify what little advantage this NIC would give you. On a side note, it looks awesome! |
7/10/2009 | birdcurtis | 5/5 | This product was amazing. |
7/10/2009 | granke | 4/5 | Excellent product, tested on a few games, mainly Assassin's Creed, which worked amazingly with the 3D glasses. The menu's just jumped out at you. Another particularly good game was Left 4 Dead. When looking at the characters in the game, they had such depth, like you could see past them. It was quite incredible. Would give a 5 out of 5 but the price is the only thing stopping me from getting this product a.s.a.p. |
7/10/2009 | hymnatr | 4/5 | Not thinking when I signed up for the ELP I didn't have an extra i7 to use for this board, and I wasn't going to take my current system apart. I will say that the board looked really nice and seemed to have nice features then the standard x58 board. I liked the layout and if I didn't have the x58 I would definitely look at the classified for overclocking. |
7/10/2009 | vertigos | 1/5 | wish I have more time with this card. I am in the process of moving and my stuff is all packed up. I guess it came during the wrong time for me anyway |
7/8/2009 | aquanut39 | 4/5 | System tested with: QX6800 @3.6 GHZ in a EVGA 780i 4 gigs Patriot PC8500 @1125 mhz 2 X EVGA GTX 260 core 216 superclocked editions 2 X 150 gig Raptors in raid 0 XFI Pro w/ Logitech Z5500 Coolermaster Cosmos s with Coolermaster V8 cooler Coolermaster 1000 watt psu. The Monitor: All i can say is ...WOW The samsung 120 hz is stunning and a must when considering your next purchase. My only gripe is that 22 in is too small for my tastes, and as yet im not aware of 24 in version with 120 hz yet ? The Glasses: I have to say i did not find them uncomfortable as others have stated. I had 1 run of about 4hours with no discomfort and the wireless worked fine. The Games i tested: Battlefield 2 Call Of Duty 4 and 5 FEAR Farcry 2 Frontlines Fuel Of War TF2 As you can see i am all about FPS. I am sad to say, i must agree with others in saying....Its not very good on these type of games. I have more than enough power, its just hard on the eyes when theres that much fast paced action going on. So for the second week i hooked it up to a friends rig, also no slouch, but he is into WOW...Conan...RPG, Strategy etc. I must says for those style games i found it amazing!! The 3d effect added a whole new feel to the games. So if these are the type of game your into i think you will be very pleased with your purchase. Hats off to EVGA for this Loaner Program...great idea ! |
6/25/2009 | Webbie | 3/5 | To start off im giving this a 3 out of 5 only main reason is that ive only tested on about 4 games that i play regularly, Company of Heroes was cool, only effects i saw was the capture points would stick out, So no big difference there. Empire: total war, now this was cool, the map would stick out just like it was in front of your face, the battles where just about the same i really liked it. Day of defeat Source, This i did not like for some reason after like 2 mins i started to feel Sick, so i had to get out of there lol, Left 4 Dead, Now this was cool, to me seemed that everything was sticking out, Killing a "Smoker" sure made it feel was smookie everywhere. I really liked that one. Now, for the bad things, Only complaint i have is the flickering, i tried to move the pyramid around, lining it up with the glasses but just for me some odd reason it would fliker like mad. so after 3 days of testing this i stopped using it for that main reason, also i couldnt think of anymore games to try. Would i buy this? i dont think so 600 is alot i rather wait a few years then try again. Thank you EVGA to pick me to play with this toy. |
6/25/2009 | tommytt9 | 3/5 | First off, thank you evga for being the best. Now on to the review, The display is simply a must have. I can’t say enough good things about it and until you actually use one in person it’s really hard to imagine how 120htz looks and more importantly feels. The Samsung is pricey but IMO well worth every penny. The Nvidia 3D Glasses. I loaded up every game title I had on hand and had to try every one. I found that 3rd person games and race games with in car view were the best in 3d. My favorite games were TestDrive Unlimited and Tomb Raider Underworld, and FEAR 2. Games I tested • Grid • TestDrive Unlimited • Need for Speed Undercover • Assassin’s Creed • Bioshock • Black & White 2 • Fear 2 • Crysis: WARHEAD • Killing Floor • Mirror’s Edge • Cryostasis • Call of Duty WAW • UT3 • Tomb Raider Underworld • The Sims 3 • Portal • Supreme Commander I found FPS (my favorite type of game) to suffer in accuracy making the games much harder to play in a fast paced online environment. RTS games were very difficult to play because much of the time I would tend get ghosting of the curser even when 3d crosshair is enabled. Random flickering and Eye strain were sometimes a factor and cut game-time down to 30min chunks. If you’re into smoothness of high FPS the glasses and 3d effect will make your games run a bit choppy and laggy, and I have a rater high end rig so I can only imagine what it will do to a mid level system. In the end I miss the display (it’s on my Christmas list) and for $200 I can do without the novelty of playing games in 3d.
