Why does my EVGA X58 motherboard only show SATA 0-3 instead of 0-5?

Last Update: 2010/10/05

This is caused by an error in the BIOS which is easily fixed with a BIOS flash.  Get the BIOS saved to a thumb drive (CD/ISO method ifa thumb drive is not available) power down.  Upplug the HDD, then boot off of the thumb drive and flash the BIOS.  Follow the directions for the flash and after the reboot ti should show all the SATA ports.  Power down and attach the HDD, and when you boot up the SATA controller should function as intended.
