Last Update: 2012/07/18

If you experience this issue during session or when you leave your desk locking your PC (Windows Key + L) and return to this type of issue after unlocking there could be an issue with the SVGA driver on the VM, an issue with the View Agent or Tools or a possiable issue with the way the VM was originally setup.

Here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue in your enviroment:

1. Verify you are running the correct SVGA II driver for the correct VM, OS and View enviroment

Note: To check the version of VMware SVGA driver:

  1. login to the VM, go to Device Manager > Display Adapters.
  2. Right-click VMware SVGA II.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Click the Driver tab.

2. If you recently upgraded from View 4.x to 5.x make sure you followed the proper steps to update the View Agent and Tools.

The proper way to uninstall/install or update the Agent/ Tools is to do the following:

  1. Uninstall the View Agent
  2. Uninstall the View Tools
  3. Install the View Tools
  4. Install the View Agent

Please Note: When doing each step you need to power cycle the VM each time, rebooting the VM will NOT work and cause an issue if not followed properly)

3. There have been reports of issues with customer moving to View 4.X to 5.0/5.0.1. If the above steps do not resolve the issue EVGA recommends upgrading view to 5.1 which has shown an improvement in these cases with dual display configurations.

 Thank you,
