How do I use Host Discovery?

Last Update: 2011/06/07

The Host Discovery option uses SLP to discover host cards that are in the same subnet of your zero client in the network and lets you select the host card to which you want to connect.

The Host Discovery setting is enabled by default. When you first try to establish a PCoIP session, you can select the host card in the network without manually entering the IP and MAC address of your host card.

Once a PCoIP session is connected, the most recently connected host card’s IP and MAC address are stored in your zero client. Typically, you want to have your zero client connect to the same host PC/workstation, the Host Discovery option should be disabled in the Discovery tab of OSD or the Discovery webpage of the Administrative Web Interface. Once disabled, you can connect your zero client directly to your host card without going through the host discovery process.
