How do I enable the NTP on PCoIP Zero Clients?

Enabling NTP in PCoIP protocol devices such as PCoIP Zero Clients allow the event logs to be time stamped based on NTP time.

Note: This is an important step in VDI troubleshooting to allow correlation of User events with the relevant PCoIP Zero client logs. 

NTP can be enabled via the PCoIP Zero Client Web Interface and via the PCoIP Management Console

PCoIP Zero Client Web Interface NTP Configuration

  1. Go to the PCoIP Zero Client IP address from a browser.
  2. Log in, and then from the Configuration menu, choose Time.
  3. Select the Enable NTP box
  4. Select Identify NTP Host by: selecting the IP Address or FQDN radial buttons
  5. For IP Address - enter the NTP Host IP Address
  6. For FQDN - enter the NTP Host fully qualified domain name
  7. Optionally set the NTP Host Port (default is UDP port 123) 
  8. Optionally set the NTP Query Interval (number of minutes, hours, days or weeks)
  9. Optionally set the Time Zone offset for the client location
  10. Optionally set the Enable Daylight Saving Time to automatically adjust for daylight 
  11. Click Apply

PCoIP Management Console NTP Configuration

  1. Go to the PCoIP Management Console IP address from a browser.
  2. Log in, and select the Profile tab.
  3. For an existing Profile, or after creating a new profile, select Set Properties
  4. Select Time Configuration
  5. Select Edit Properties and for each of the parameters entered select Set in Profile button
  6. Enter the NTP Server Hostname IP address or FQDN
  7. Optionally enter the NTP Server Port (default is UDP port 123)
  8. Optionally enter the NTP Query Interval in seconds (default is 24 hours, or 86,400 seconds)
  9. Optionally set the Enable DST preference to automatically adjust for daylight savings time.
  10. Optionally set the Time Zone Offset for the client location.
  11. Click Save.
