FAQ

Why are my sessions disconnecting with VMware View 4.0.1 and PCoIP Zero Clients?

Last Update: 2011/06/07

Scenario

Connecting PCoIP Zero Clients to VMware View 4.0.1 can have occasional session disconnects.

Resolution

Migrate to VMware View 4.5

Enhancements to WAN Experience

  •   Higher image quality without impacting bandwidth consumption
  •   Improved imaging performance in low bandwidth situations
  •   Improved performance when sharing a network with multiple PCoIP sessions or other TCP traffic
  •   Reduced bandwidth utilization (peak and average) when optimizations for WAN are applied

Alternatively, migrate to from View 4.0/4.0.1 to View 4.0.2

Use the latest PCoIP Zero Client Firmware

We also recommend that you use the latest firmware for your PCoIP Zero Clients.

Known Limitations

Some USB peripherals such as ActiveSync devices (Blackberry, etc.) can cause session disconnects. This will be fixed in a future version of VMware View.
