When connecting a display through svideo, the svideo is the secondary display.  This connection will share a controller with the DVI/VGA port closest to the svideo connection and these will not work together.  If running 2 monitors you must use the DVI/VGA connection farthest away from the svideo connection for the svideo to be able to function.
