FAQ

Why are my monitors swapped when running multiple displays?

Last Update: 2010/08/02

First start by identifying which monitors are which by hitting "identify" in the windows display control panel.

Second, verify that your desktop is currently set in extended mode and that the screen is on the right side by trying to move the mouse onto the screen by going either left or right until determining that either: A) You have to move the mouse to the left to go to the right screen and right to go to the left screen, or B) Moving to the right actually moves you to the right screen and left takes you to the left screen.

If A:

For windows XP:

1. Right click on the desktop,

2. Select properties

3. Click the "Settings" tap on the far right

4. Once there you should see an image of two monitors. Click on the right monitor and drag it to the left.

5. Click apply. This should make it so that your mouse moves as described in example B.

For Windows Vista

1. Right click on the desktop

2. Select Personalize

3. Select Resolutions

4. Once there you should see an image of 2 monitors. Click on the right monitor and drag it to the left.

5. Click apply. This should make it so that your mouse now moves as described in example B.

For Windows 7

1. Right click on the desktop

2. Select Change Resolution

3. Once there you should see an image of 2 monitors. Click on the right monitor and drag it to the left.

4. Click apply. This should make it so that your mouse now moves as described in example B.

Once the displays operate as in example B you are finished. Please note if running more then 2 monitors, more than 2 monitors may be displayed, and the order in which you need to drag them may change.
