Black screen or no signal after installing a graphics card on an Asus Z170 Z270 H110 B150 motherboard

Last Update: 2017/03/03

If you encounter a black screen or no display after installing an EVGA graphics card in your Asus Z170 Z270 H110 B150 motherboard model there is a simple solution that is often overlooked.

First you will need to remove the graphics card and connect your display to your motherboard display outputs.

Once you have the graphics card uninstalled and your display is connected to your integrated graphics via the motherboard output, you will need to enter the BIOS.

Turn on your system and start to press the "Delete" key every 1/2 second until you see your bios screen. If you never receive a display or cannot enter bios you may need to clear CMOS first. Consult your motherboard manual for instructions on clearing CMOS.

Once in bios you will need to navigate to BOOT > CSM > PCIE (set PCIE from Legacy to UEFI)

If you are using an Asus Z270 motherboard the option will be slightly different. It will be located under BOOT > CSM > Boot from PCIE Devices (set this option to UEFI)
