I was under the impression that the gts 250 is HDMI capable...i am assuming you have to attach something to the GPU internally, does anyone have a link to the specific adapter/chord i need for this?

Thanks....Ben

It comes with all the necessary attachments. There is the DVI-HDMI adapter and the SPDIF cable.
There is a small two pin connector on the card, near the SLI connectors or the power connectors. Plug the other end of the small long cable into you sound card or into the mainboard. It should be marked SPDIF. Then just use the adapter and plug the stuff in.

Is it the same HDMI quality using the adapter?

Also, I looked through both my evga boxes & don't have the SPDIF cables or the DVI-HDMI adapter....can I request these from EVGA? (all they came with were DVI-VGA adapters....)

Check on the box to see what is supposed to be included.  Not all cards come with the SPDIF cable and the DVI-HDMI dongle. You can ask EVGA to send them to you but I won't speak for EVGA and say you'll get them free.  Personally I prefer using an DVI to HDMI cable. The cost isn't that much different and it is much neater. The signal is digital either way.

^+1. Call EVGA and ask. The box will show what it comes with and if it was supposed to and did not they should send it to you. kscott's post has the link to buy it from the site here.

My 250's that I bought for my wife's comp did not come with the HDMI adapter and cable and they were not stated on the box that they did.  So I am going to say they don't come with it.

For all of those people wondering if there video card you purchase at the store comes with an HDMI adapter or a SPDIF internal cable...look at the box first. I bought my evga geforce gts 250 from frys electronics and it doesnt state on the box that it comes with these items. For those of you that want to buy the exact SPDIF internal cable and an DVI-HDMI adapter....EVGA sells them on thier site www.evga.com. Here is the link that i found today I think its an awesome deal they sell the adapter and spdif cable for 15.99 USD!

Hi, Just to be sure, Will the above post's detail about buying the cable from evga will enable audio within the Card's DVI->HDMI adaptor or enable audio in the HDMI of the graphics card itself? I Use the GTS250 and have connected the HDMI cable from the card to my Westinghouse 26inch TV/monitor. I didnt want to use additional speakers connected to the PC and would like the HDMI to input video/sound into my tv/monitor. Thx for the response in advance. Regards Venkat

It's been almost a yr since i payed attension to this post, but by now you have probably figured out that yes if you buy the spdif internal cable for your card from evga and the DVi-HDmi adapter, you should get sound to your TV/Monitor
