Hmm. Why would they only OC the 450 board? OC that 460 and it would lay the smack down while not costing much more or using much more electricity.

the review was on the 450, go to a 460 review if you want to see the 460 oc results.

wow better Overclock its better then the 260 and a 460 not overclock. I wonder the PPD per watt must be very good 9151 ppd OC and the watt on load from 3d mark is 251 but thats not OC. This would be the next GTS 250/ 9800GT low power.

EVGA has a FTW version being released that I think has a 920mhz stock clock. If its under $150 would make a killer folding card. Now if they would make a single slot or low profile I would jump on these from evga

Hmm...PPD output of 9151 OC'd. I would expect a little more out of it for being a Fermi! With my OC'd 260 626/1656/999 I avg. anywhere from 8,700-9,500+ppd depending on WU.

Well like the article says. You always get the same type of wu with the GPU3, so the PPD can be pretty accurately calculated. With the low power consumption of this card compared to a GTX 260, it's a mighty little folder. Heck this card could easily pay for itself in a lower power bill by switching out a GTX 260 to this card.

If they offer a single slot. you could throw 7 of these bad boys in a single box and get 60K+ PPD long as you had the slots and a huge PSU or multiple PSU's. Now that would be crazy.

I'll likely be considering one of these for a later build. I've kinda realized I like the simplicity of dropping in a powerful card and kicking butt.

The lower power of the 450 if you think about will pay for itself comparing it to the 260's power consumption. Good point Kram!

It's an issue with 8 or more GPUs I think. 7 is fine, but if you were to watercool 4 295's I think you would have issues.

You can have 7 dual slot cards if you use PCI-E extenders cables, but need to figure out some way to hold the cards above the board a bit, some kinda custom shelf to have them all side by side or something. http://www.b2c-support.co...bbon-cable-p-4154.html

I thought about using the extenders to do such a build. I figured I could take two test rack kits and mod them so that the MB was one level with 4 of the cards and then put a second level above it where the risers mounted and had the 3 other cards. Only reason I never moved ahead was I can't deal with the heat load. Now 7 450's migh be Ok since the wattage is much lower. I just want to see what everyone else gets PPD wise out of them. If they do turn out to OC great and return a nice PPD then I might reconsider building a rack with them

Also at 106w per card thats about 750w for the GPU's alone. Add in the CPU overclock and I would suggest a good 1000w unit with 7 x 6 pin PCI-e connectors to run them.

I already have the 1000w PSU sitting here. Have a NIB Strider Plus 1000w and a 1000w coolermaster as well. Just have not made up my mind on what they will be powering. I need to see if the x58 4x classified will run the 6 core xeon es chips that can be had for just over $300

_Nite_ z3r0t0l0rence Hmm...PPD output of 9151 OC'd. I would expect a little more out of it for being a Fermi! With my OC'd 260 626/1656/999 I avg. anywhere from 8,700-9,500+ppd depending on WU. the 450 uses less power then the 260 though, 9K PPD for a 106w card is really good. Where are you getting 106 watts from? THIS LINK Shows that under a full load the GTS 450 kicks out 251 watts. ***EDIT*** Ok, I see now that 251 is "total system power" but the question remains. Are you assuming that they are using a 130watt CPU with some overhead for the HDs and Optical drives and coming up with 106watts or did you see that on another review site?

So OCed it should be just a bit over the nvidia 106watts.
