Hi, Just curious as to why the step-up program is not available for Australian Customer. In most cases, cause we are more or less the last of the people to get VGA cards, very often, we get hit with a card shortage and we end up paying for a premium on the cards. (ie. 8800GT) However, in purchasing these cards, even though we have paid more, we are not entitled to one of 'core' customer service sweetener that eVGA offer to their US/Europe customers. Is there a reason.. why this is the case? Time really isn't a factor as eVGa does have an Australian dealers and distributor here.. are they unable to handle the step-up, like they do with warranty claims? Regards, Art

rjohnson11 Stepup isn't yet available in Australia. If you want direct information for EVGA products and services in Australia please email: dbretherton@evga.com Hi Rjohnson Thank you for your reply. I do know that stepup isn't available in Australia. That was the core of my posting and I was hoping to find out why? I also know about the products and services available in Australia. To be honest, right now, based on principle - I and a few of my friends are not going to purchase an EVGA product cause the way we see it, we are buying the products at a dearer price than America.. we are about 3mths behind in getting the latest card and yet through all this, it seems Australian is getting treated with a 'too bad, so sad - you guys are not good enough to enjoy our stepup program but thanks for your money' attitude. EVGA got dealers and distributions set up in Australia.. thus I fail to see why we are missing out. -Art

To clarify why we do not offer Step Up in the APAC region, simply because we are not in a position to offer in this region at this time. In time, and when the timing is right, hopefully we can introduce this as valued feature. Thanks for your support

why cant we just pay the extra fed-ex cost to ship to the usa its crazy, we pay stupid amounts for this gear, mayself have just run the risk using ebay to get a gtx 285 2gb for a resonable price from the usa. i just do not understand why we cannot buy direct from evga online store and except the extra shipping charges to australia and for RMA and STEP-UP, in today,s standards of shipping its 3 days from florida to cairns using fed-ex, i use it for flight sim software. put it like this x58 4 way classi : evga online store $499.99 (aus $ 550.00) plus $50.00 shipping ITS Direct $ 735.00 plus $30.00 postage and we would recive it from the usa sooner i dont want to know how much the new duel cpu : EX55 4Way classi will be here COME ON EVGA SHOW US THE LOVE

Prices vary in common currency for multitudes of reasons to include higher tariffs and duties, transportation costs, and various other reasons. I have posted this information before. A quick comparison of EVGA video cards between Australia and the Netherlands showed that a couple of items were cheaper in Australia than in the Netherlands.

valid point except the cost of living is higher in holland than australia and australia has cheap import taxes, not to mention that personal imports upto the value of $1000.00 (au) is duty free. hence my reason for access to the evga online store the high product price of evga gear is due to greed, most vendors are more than happy to pump out asus gear and they do sell asus at average prices (inline with other country's) and no i am not going to switch to asus !!!! i and i bet all australian evga fans would be happy if we could buy evga from the US online store and except all the extra costs for the shipping for all the product support think of the extra sale's

Thanks Duane expressed this point about infastructure for the stepup hopefully this infastructure is in place sooner rather than never. Hes a really nice guy and I get what he was saying but the more pressing question fusionssl is interested in is about the cost and the inability to buy the unit from overseas when Australians are obviously discriminated against in terms of cost and RA support. I know its not an easy question you have retail stores you want to stock the boards so they have to make a reasonable margins particulary as you say because you are a "new player to the game" the question you have to ask is how many people are not buying my boards because we continue to ignore the model that has worked so well in the US and Europe??

Again it comes down to having the right infrastructure in place to meet customer expectations of a reputable brand. Right now availability is a convenience and dependant on vendor/retailor support for a market that focuses more on pricing rather than brand value and stability. This will come and definately sooner rather than later, which again is relative to the individual and varies. Duane will service Australia/NZ as best as he can and much better than most, that is why he is part of the EVGA Team.
