hi, i just set up my new rig, and me and my friend cant figure out why this is happening.  on my evga p55 LE board, i'm getting a "b8" error code.  this is if i have one stick of ram in dimm 1.  if i have one in dimm 1 and one in dimm 3, it goes to b8 and then to d4, and back and forth.  we have tried everything, making sure the board isnt grounded to anything its not supposed to be, tried unplugging the chord and taking out the battery for like an hour, tried all sorts of ram combinations.  tomorrow he's gonna bring over a different ram stick just to see if this ram may be bad.  it IS on the compatible list, although it is tri-channel "i7" ram.  its corsair TR3X6G1600C9.   again, we've tried each stick single, and every combo.    we called tech support and they just told us to do the battery reset thing for 15+ minutes, and that a memory module may be dead.

has anyone run into this problem?  i hope it isnt the ram, but it shouldnt be.  gonna rma the board back if all else fails tomorrow and get an ftw 200.

I too had this problem.  I could not get my memory to operate in dual channel mode.  I tried all combo's of memory slot configs and the one that works for me running them in slots 2 and 4.

so i rmad the board back, and ordered a ftw 200, just came today.  it works amazingly!   got windows 7 64 bit loaded up, everythings great, the 2 sticks of ram are recognized as dual channel, everything is kosher.  im still on the stock fan until my corsair h50 arrives, so until then i just wont be overclocking, but everything is finally up and running!

Indeed using 1 and 3, system will not boot - This is explained in the user guide. Use 2 and 4 for one pair of sticks in dual channel. (2GB+2GB Corsair GT in my case)

    EVGA P55 FTW /i7 860 @4GHZ / Vcore=1.3V / VTT=1.225 Boot = 1.275 Eventual /Vdimm=1.65V / 2 x 2 GB Corsair Dominator GT Stock 1600HZ 7 7 7 20 1T overclocked @ 2000MHZ 9 9 9 24 1T / EVGA GTX 260 / NOCTUA NH-U12P SE2 PUSH PULL 2 x 1300rpm / PSU Corsair HX1000W / Case Thermaltake Armor Jr / Idle temp 37Deg C / Full Load 8 Threads P95 Max 85Deg C

ya thanks for the help guys, but i got my ftw 200 for about a week or 2 now, and it's absolutely flawless.  it must have been a problem with that particular LE.  rma'd it and got refunded.  the ftw 200 was 100% worth it anyway.
