Some people asking for internal pictures so here it is! This block is the GTX 480, the 470 is similar. The base it made out of nickel plated C110 Copper, and top plate is delrin. Here is the outside of the waterblock:  If you take off the top, you can see the internals, and the integrated heatpipe to the VRMs  A closer look at the internal GPU area, and the 06.mm thin pin matrix which allows good heat transfer.  Here is the back of the block, all the memory are cooled, and once again you can see the smoothness of the block where it contacts the memory and GPU.  Lastly we have the inside of the top delrin piece, here you can see the flowpath, and separator. Btw, what's the deal with the dual SLI connectors for 2-way Jacob? I've seen that in reviews too, does GF100 actually need the extra bandwidth, and is that part of the reason we're seeing claims of near 100% SLI scaling with GTX 470/480? Will we get these new connectors with GTX 480? TIA!
The 2 SLI connectors are for 3/4-way SLI.

lol ya just looked on closer inspection and it was actually a reflection....there are some reviews with the 2-way connector though, thanks for the clarification.

The water block looks nice, but it would be even better if we could a. Pre order it b. know how many units will be available.
My self personal I got tired of waiting for something that we have no solid information on other than middle of April and nothing else.
Today I secured my self two 480's, one 470, and water blocks by Koolance and stuck with Evga brand Geforces. Even though my current experience with Evga's own store/website and pre ordering info structure was very disappointing.
All I can say is good luck to any one trying to get one (more like need two) of these cards in this thread, the odds seem like the lottery, something I don't have the nerves for, I think its ridiculous when a company can not disclose information on something you want to purchase and are willing to hand over a decent sum of money.
Good luck... also a little fyi there are allot of place you can secure your self a regular card btw, just saying.

You know, it's really nice that EVGA is now taking the lead and offering water blocks for their cards upon or shortly after the actual product release. Previously we'd have to get an aftermarket water block if we wanted something right after getting the card. Now EVGA is doing what they should for their loyal customers - thank you EVGA!

Just a suggestion, EVGA. Find a format for HydroCopper and stick with it. Make your HydroCopper block's inlet/outlets line up across your lineup. There should be a standard for this sort of thing, but looking at the HC block for the 285, the line up appears to be way off. I'd like to believe the inconsistency is due to design needs, but I fear it's simple oversight. Very sexy though, regardless.

Well by doing this we were able to adequately cool the VRMs, and deliver the best possible cooling to the GPU.

+1. I hate taking apart the stock fan assembly and putting on the waterblock. Now EVGA will do it for me. I do wish there was more availability on the hydro copper series. Everytime I wanted to buy one, they no longer made it (the classified mobo w/ waterblock).

i got a very similar question to this one.
i pretty sure that i will buy a 480wc,
but i am afraid that in Q4 oder Q1 2011 there wont be any more for an upgrade to a sli.
i am thinking of crysis2 coming out Q4 according to rumors..
i dont want to hang with a mixed setup air/water or 2 different watercooling solutions

Very interesting design. I like the raised middle section of micro pins, looks different. My questions about the performance are: 1. Are the above numbers for a single card in a loop all their own or did they share the loop with another component? 2. Were traditional PC water cooling radiators being used & how many fans? (what type/brand) 3. How many radiators were used? (for example, a single dual 120mm, or a single triple 120mm radiator) 4. Was this test performed in an open-air bench configuration, or inside a closed computer case? 5. What was the ambient temperature of the room?

1. It was shared with a CPU. 2. Yes, it was a 3x120mm radiator with low RPM fans 3. Answered above. 4. In a closed PC. 5. Not sure on this one, sorry, it can be considered "room temperature"

These look great, and the gpu temps are impressive... Couple of questions though...
1) Is there no heatpipe on the 470 block?
2) Can you post VRM temps for 480/470?

I hope I don't come across rude, but I'm about ready to dump EVGA over the easiest things, even though the products are great. I had an EVGA motherboard die a week after I purchased it. After support giving me the run around for a week I just went to Frys and bought an Asus Rampage. It fixed the problem, but I got stuck with an EVGA motherboard I couldn't return to Newegg because I tossed out the box.
Now I've been waiting on FERMI for 6 months. I know that's not EVGA's fault. But I need a water cooled card. I'd rather buy the Hydro Copper, but I can't pre-order and get a date for it to be delivered. I've been waiting for 6months. Shoe stores can manage orders versus inventory. Why can't EVGA? Just let me pre-order and wait in line.
If the pre-order doesn't open up soon, I'm going to end up pre-ordering an ASUS and getting my own waterblock. I'd rather not, but after waiting 6 months too long, I'm not going to get stuck waiting another month if I can't even get in line without an idea.

I've been waiting for some pictures to appear. So im really hoping to score a couple of these on the 12th. Please I called and spoke to a sales rep - He was unable to specify when these would become available, can we get a possible date so I can wait in line, these are the last peices I need for my water cooled gear I just dropped a bunch of money on. Heatsink design is quite stupid if you ask me as a full coverage block will offer much better PCB/case temps. Koolance full coverage block on a 480 SC(only +/-$630)=FTW . Also I noticed the 470 Hydro Copper has a copper heat pipe which isn't chrome plated. Has that changed to chrome plated like the 480 Hydro Copper has? I ask this because some people can't have bare copper in their cooling systems.
