Version v1.1.0.0
Release: 3/12/13
  • New GUI Interface

The EVGA LED Controller application for EVGA GeForce GTX TITAN and GTX 690 is available now! You can download it here.

Here is a brief overview on how it works. When I start the application I will see the below:

The first selector at the top left lets me select the card logo I want to adjust. The selection directly below that lets me select various different options. IMPORTANT NOTE: Anything other than manual control REQUIRES EVGA Precision X to be running in the background! For FPS Monitoring make sure that you have FPS monitoring enabled in EVGA Precision X.

Lets select GPU Utilization. When EVGA Precision X is also running in the background (or minimized to system tray) the LED on my EVGA GTX TITAN or GTX 690 will automatically adjust based on the GPU Utilization. In the below image I am running EVGA OC Scanner X to increase my GPU utilization to 94%, thus the illumination on my EVGA GTX 690 logo is set accordingly. When I close EVGA OC Scanner X, the LED turns off.

Lastly, the apply at startup will ensure that my custom LED settings will always apply on Windows boot!

y, for a special 'no cost spared' card, they really got lazy/cheap in 2 areas:
    - using the stock led as you mention; with the cooler facing down in a normal case, you wouldn't recognize it as a titan unless you look carefully. they save a few $ using the same manufacturing line as 690s for the leds and titan looses a little prestige
    - no backplate - titan looses a lot of prestige:(

titan was going to be one of those things i chase after as soon as they're released but this dodginess really ruined it for me (had an opp to get one last night, couldn't get myself interested enough). some might say petty but i expect a little more attention to detail from a $1K+ card :/

Yeah but it was EVGA that remedied that situation and unfortunately you have to pay more for it. It certainly should have come from factory with a backplate. NVIDIA just cheaped out.

It's supposed to be a premium card. Premium means those little details are addressed.

it may be that you can't SLI them next to each other with the added thickness of a backplate, (and therefore could not do 3/4way sli with the backplate on it) I think the GTX 580 classified was like that?

Same can be said of the 690 as that was Nvidia's and still is a flagship.

Something like this should just be done.

    RIG 1 - i7-4790K / Asus Z97 Gryphon / AMD Sapphire RX Vega 64 / 8GB*8GB G.Skill Trident X 2400Mhz CL10 / SeaSonic Prime Ultra 1000w Plat
    RIG 2 - Pentium G3258 / ASRock Z97 Extreme9 / AMD XFX RX580 GTS XXX x4 / 8GB*8GB Kingston HyperX Fury 1600Mhz CL10 / Corsair AX1200i

Not sure if it is a bug or by design, but when I have GT 640 driving my displays, and the Titan installed as well, I get "This device is not supported".

1.1.0.0 still comes up with "This device is not supported!' when Titan is secondary GPU... was hoping I could turn off the darn LEDs...

Is there a way to make this work with 3 Titans or will it only affect the primary Titan? Sorry if this has been addressed but it's not obvious from the GUI. TIA.

EDIT: sorry, I figured it out - you need to use the selector to cycle through...it's just hard to see which card, etc. but it works!

BTW we are looking into the bug with GT 640.

Excellent program, it's neat to see my Titan coming alive any time I game. Congrats to the ppl at EVGA who worked on this nice little program.

Jacob, can I suggest one feature? You think we can have the option of having the LED increase the brightness as the GPU temperature goes up, besides the option of showing GPU utilization?

Thanks for the extra effort to make this program, things like this are what keep me coming back to EVGA :)

    Core i7 5930K @ 4.5Ghz

I have an issue with the LED Controller.  I've tried tech support and he said to post here.
I've installed Precision X  4.0.0 and it's running. I've installed the March 5 version of the LED controller and it's running.  I've rebooted my system.
For some reason, the Titan is showing up as:  D15U-50 which I understand is the code for the Titan.
But I'm wondering if that is the reason for my issue which is:
The LED controller does not work.  No matter what setting I try: Manual, Frame Rate, GPU Clock, Breathing, or GPU Utilization, I get no results.
Yes, I'm clicking on Apply after each change.
In Manual mode.  Every time I click Apply, the slider goes right back to zero.  It won't stay at any given position.  All the while the card's LED doesn't change at all.
I would really like to turn the green logo way down but I can't.
    FWIW, Precision is working fine.

Man this program is so buggy for me. Windows 8 pro, 2 titans, and a 3770k. Installed the program-Does not even give you a folder option. I let it install to the default and then cut and pasted it to the folder where I have my video card tools like precision. I load the program, and half the time the apply button disappears. I can't use the slider. I have to use the led breathing illumination just to get the illumination back to default 100%-I wait and then close the program right when it hits 100%. I mean I cannot set anything in the menu. I deleted it through the windows 8 program uninstall menu, and guess what, it's still there? Can I just manually delete it from my system? Does it write to the registry? I would assume so as when I reboot the light goes back to 100% but on restart its dim back to where it was, and I did not even click apply at start up. Any help would be appreciated.
