This BIOS is ONLY for the EVGA X58 LE Motherboard (part number 141-BL-E757-)

 BIOS 44 Updates:
  • Supports 32nm Desktop CPUs
  • Added "Turbo Performance" option (may boost performance if enabled)
  • Fixes 1866MHz Memory Ratio

BIOS updating can be accomplished VIA the below methods:

CD/DVD Installation - Recommended installation method
  • Download the following .iso file: E757_44.iso
  • Use a CD Burning software to burn the .iso image onto a blank CD (Nero, Alochol 120%, MagicISO etc.)
  • After it has burned, insert CD and restart the machine, go into the BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Now set the CD Drive as the primary boot device, or press escape while the system is booting to select CD as the bootable device.
  • After flash remove the CD, and power off PC Completely.
  • Turn on the PC and load defaults in BIOS

USB FLOPPY Installation - Recommended installation method
  • Download the following executable: E757_44.exe
  • Insert blank floppy disk into drive and run executable
  • After the floppy has written fully, restart the machine, go into the BIOS and load defaults, save and exit
  • Now set the USB Floppy as the primary boot device, or press escape while the system is booting to select USB Floppy as the bootable device
  • After flash remove the floppy, power off PC Completely
  • Turn on the PC and load defaults in BIOS

USB Flash Drive Installation - Alternate installation method
  • Download: E75744.bin
  • Visit this thread and follow the installation instructions. (thanks 30h6).

Warning:
**Do not restart or interrupt your PC while the flash is ongoing
**Do not Flash BIOS on overclocked settings
**It is always recommended to power-down after flash and Clear CMOS

    Jacob,
Is the link for the USB Flash drive correct? It's usually a .bin file, also the existing link doesn't work. Thanks for the help!

I have a weird sound coming out of my speakers. I recently installed the new firmware (last night).  I also took the chance to clean off my hard drive.  So this is a clean install of windows, with the most recent driver updates. The frequency of the sound seems to be correlated with the sample rate.  If there is any know fix please let me know. This only seems to be occurring out of the "Front Speaker Out" jack, the rest of the rear panel don't play any sound at all.  On the jack that kinda works, you can hear the audio, it's just really quiet.  I can control the volume of the so I think this may be fixable with software.  Please let me know

I was just dumb... the s/pidf connector to my card wasn't on the right pins... just hanging from the N/C so no harm, but

I cannnot tell if BIOS update occured.  CD drive only blinked for a couple of seconds on booting.  What should Everest show for BIOS date?  I have a trial version of WinRAR that is performing any unzipping.  The ISO file is saved on desktop as a WinRAR file.  Does this matter?

    I have the same issue.

    I was stable at 4.2

After flashing this bios - I can no longer go past 3.7. Setting are the same. I even tried tweaking the voltages higher. Very strange.

Not sure I will bother flashing back to the prior version tho. I am planning to upgrade to the 6 core i9 when it comes out in March and apparently we need this version to support the 6 core chips.

    Bummer tho.

Ya I heard about those core i9 chips they sound pretty cool but im not gunna spend my money on that. Maybe when they release and 8 core on the 1366 socket I would consider upgrading but thats not going to be for a while. Besides I want a Fermi to upgrade my 9500GT. Well at least I know im not the only one out there with this problem. I have able to get a stable 4.2 GHz overclock but when I run Prime95 like 5 minutes into the test I get and error and the processor downclocks to a x12 multiplier and I think its because my NB temps are through the roof (looking at ~ 85-95 at IDLE, I know ridiculous but im int he middle of solving that. (Prob. just strap a couple of fans the the heatsink lol) anyway good luck the only advice i would have is to REALLY play with the voltages, I had to set mine quite high to get it stable.

I have the EVGA X58 classified board. I was wondering since the 285 classified GPU's are sold out. If I buy 4 295 SC COOP cards, since they are only 2 way SLI, can I hook up a 2x2 system? What I mean by 2x2 is have 2 sets of SLI connected 295's. Will there be any downfall if it does work?

    Hi everyone,
I hate to be negative on my first post but this BIOS update still didn't fix known problem with USB locking up when thumb drive is plugged in and in my case recognizes 1600 DDR3 ram as 1066 which is not that big of deal. Does anyone have any idea when USB issue will be fixed or do I need to RMA motherboard?
Just an FYI if I plug in thumb drive in add on USB card system does not lock up.

    Thanks

Your 1600 DDR3 will show as 1067 in the Memory settings. It is Tri-Channel memory, so 1067 x 3 = 3200, which is your Uncore frequency, divide that by 2 and you have your 1600MHz DDR3 Memory running correctly in Tri-Channel. As far as the Thumb drive, it may be running an older file system like FAT or FAT16, FAT32... If you're using Vista or especially Windows 7 in 64-bit you want to make sure everything is NTFS. I have 6 thumb drives I've hooked up between this version and the previous BIOS version, none had any problems. Food for thought I guess.

I flashed with the OC setting.

After the flash the bios was back at the default settings ( which is what usually happens). So I had to put everything back the way it was. ( I had written the settings down ). I keep the bios settings at a 3.5 OC. I have an EVGA E-Leet  profile for a 4.0 OC and 4.2 OC.

Those no longer work. I was able to loosen the memory settings to get back to 4.0 OC stable. Haven't had the time to play around with getting higher than that.

This is the first time I have ever had an issue like this after a bios upgrade.

    Hi,

I have just updaded E757_44.iso this morning and found my memory has  problem. My system, I7 920 D0 is ok 3*2GB RAM on default load, but the system only catches 2GB if the system changes to OC'ing state. Does anyone has this experience?

Yo guys loading defaults is key, if you don't do it it doesn't go right at all.  But I have to say I had a really difficult time getting a i7 920 to *EDIT 4.15GHz* since the BIOS update.

    I updated with defaults.
I found that my problem happend when I reloaded my preivous overclocked state from "Save Profile". I don't understand updating new version of BIOS don't remove saved profile. My system is ok with RAM when I reset overclocked state manually.

Dont reload a saved OC profile, write down all your settings and recreate the OC from scratch, then save it again.

I cant get the USB method above working. Everytime after i load the "drdos.bin" with BootDisk2BootStick then try to open explorer to the USB drive, it says my drive isnt accessible. ive tried 2 usb sticks now. What am i doing wrong?

I may be wrong, but since it's operating under DOS, I believe it needs to be formatted in "FAT" to be accessible and bootable for DrDos. In my case, I had a 2G SD disk that was reduced to 1.44M (floppy size) partition but nonetheless it worked as it should.

It does get reduced to floppy size and all the file nearly fill it up. and ya I think it needs to be formatted in FAT. I think BootDisk2BootStick does that though... not sure...

    Thanks, Governator and subaruguru

I will try to format it to FAT and try it again for the next BIOS update

I cannnot tell if BIOS update occured.  CD drive only blinked for a couple of seconds on booting.  What should Everest show for BIOS date?  I have a trial version of WinRAR that is performing any unzipping.  The ISO file is saved on desktop as a WinRAR file.  Does this matter?

load CPU-z, click mainboard, mid page = bios date = 02/04/2010.  If you see that date, it updated.
