Im gonna have to say, I would probably use a SSD to get some beneficial gains on my computer.
I would use the SSD as a operating system drive (Win7 Ultimate 64). Hopefully a SSD would enable my computer to operate at a little faster speeds. I use my computer for audio engineering purposes, so my thought would be that a ssd would give me access to faster read/writes which would enable me to finish one track faster and leave me with more time to master my mix rather then wait for it to finish encoding.  Obviously the added benefit of lower power consumption is a very positive thing too (not to mention less space taken up in my case) :)

Edit- Another thought, Ive been working with a group of people making some videos that will later be posted online. For those of you familiar with AVGN or the Nostalgia Critic, We are also doing reviews (I wont get into what), however we are reviewing "MST3K" style. Something a little edgy, something a little different, something with more then one person at a time....risky, maybe. But never the less, it pertains to our interests and our careers.
So, being that we are all in college, or fresh out of college (and unemployed...eck), We dont have much money. My computer is currently doing all the video processing and the rest of the behind the scene magic.
A Solid State HD would allow for quicker processing/rendering time which would give me more time to put into more important matters. Overall it is the biggest missing link in the computer right now.

With that said, it wouldn't be a stretch to say this SSD wouldn't change my life for the better :)

    /edit

Is it ok to edit this? Im a little shy on sleep and would like to refine as i think about it a little more, feel free to pm me a anwser, thanks.

The current mod I'm working on ("Ioncito v2") is an environment friendly gaming rig based on nvidia ION plataform. It's a mini ITX, overclocked, watercooled, imitation leather coated case powered by a Zotac ION ITX motherboard with Atom 330 and an EVGA Geforce GT 240 (both components are eco-friendly because of their low consumption). The case itself is built from scrap aluminium from a factory dumpster.

The objective of this mod is to prove that you don't need a 1200w quad sli computer to do some decent gaming. A cool, silent, green rig that suits for games, downloads, internet surfing 24/7 without increasing the electric bill to the sky.

A SSD would decrease even more the power consumption of this rig.

I look forward to having an SSD in my system in the near future for the sole purpose of being able to pull my data quicker from my reporting tools, and much quicker load times so I don't have to wait so long to pwn noobs in MW2 and TF2.

I work at a local computer store, and we recently just built a system with an SSD drive in it. I'd watched Jacob's videos about how significant the difference is between an SSD-enabled system and a standard HDD system, and it's really incredibly. Windows 7 installs and boots so incredibly fast... it's amazing! I read a statistic somewhere that says a HDD would have to spin at 40,000 RPM to be able to keep up with an SSD system. It's incredible! My system has the OS and programs installed on one disc, with all the data I use for 3D  modeling and music creation on a 750GB drive. An SSD for the OS drive would be perfect for a fast Windows, fast-loading games, and amazing performance. I've never been concerned with having a system with a significant 3DMark score; it's just too expensive of a hobby. But with an SSD, I think I might actually be able to compete in someway! Plus, my main drive is a Seagate 7200.11... one of the infamous often-fails drives. Either way, I need to get a new hard drive sooner or later!

    - EVGA GeForce 285 1GB (Not classified):
    - EVGA 750i SLI FTW Motherboard. It's cool. It is home to a:
    - Q6600 Core 2 Quad processor, overclocked, which doesn't get too hot, but the
    - 8GB DDR2 RAM at 1066 MHz gets hot enough to melt sapphires.

I have always been a little concerned for my computer. Currently I run two 500gb Hitachi hard drives in raid 0. It gives nice throughput but it could fail at any time.
What would be great for me is a new Solid state drive that I could dedicate for the Os and important program files. I am pretty sure everything would load faster and may even help the system run a bit more stable so I could clock it up more to help with my folding.

today had to turn off windows search indexer, running  a bit to much background services plus win. search indexer was found to be a bit to much for "old" wd black hdd's
think that SSD could improve performance, making my gaming machine gaming again, now it's just a PC :D

An SSD would allow me to remove the greatest bottleneck in My EVGA Classified motherboard-based system.  It would also free up funds in my budget to add a third EVGA video card for Tri-SLI... finally realizing the true potential of my EVGA Classified system.

Wow what would I not use it for?
1st. Just to enjoy looking at pictures fly across the screen as I shot it off to my friends. 2nd. I am all into media streaming and buying blue-rays from amazon for like $8 a pop so I always rip it to my PC then transfer it to my server. but when I am transferring it it kills my computer FOREVER so I cannot game or do anything. An ssd would help a TUN!
3rd. I run all EVGA compoenets, soon my very own EVGA logo computer case prototype and it would be nice when I go to a lan party to show off all my goods when loading a game I always win :) I don't know why but it just feels good.

So in the end, It would help me load everything faster including copy files a TUN FASTER! Over all allowing me to use my computer a lot more. As I work soooo much I never have anytime to game. :( SO every min Im not waiting for a file transfer ( I do that about 3x a week btw ) Is more time I get to use my computer. So yes having a SSD would in the end honestly allow me to use my computer for more fun more often. ( And show off :) )

Also how I only run windows and installed programs on my OS drive, If I got this drive, I would totally buy another and raid them for space and increased speed. But as for convising the wife to let me buy 2... lmao

    Sorry its so long

What a coincidence; my spinning hard drive just died! I'd love a new SSD so I can install Windows 7 and play some games faster. I need a drive that can keep up with my EVGA graphics card!

    - The next month I´m planning to upgrade my "old and reliable" platform and put my E6600 on vacations for a long long time . A SSD drive is a good thing to consider, because the low latency, fast speed, lower power consuption and zero noise! I want to see two Kingston units in raid 0 configuration to boot the O.S. and install "high loading type of games" as MMORPGs (I them!).

Been using a pair of SSDs for a while now and it is one of the best upgrades I have made in recent memory.  System overall feels much quicker and loading up my massive Solidworks assemblies is almost instant no.  The only fault I can find is a lack of storage, so one more SSD for me please.

Right now i am running one Western Digital Blue 500GB drives, It is the slowest link in my build.  It is a very reliable drive but in turn is a very slow drive.  When i game i have FRAPS running in the background and i record my gameplay. When im done with playing i go threw all the videos i just created deleting the bad and editing then uploading the good to youtube.  If i had a Solid Stat Drive, I would be able to load FRAPS and the game blazing fast. Once i was done gaming i could open and play the videos without delay.   With the video deleting, editing and uploading going faster i could then play more games and record even more videos with the time i saved loading the game, FRAPS, and the FRAPS videos them self's.  It would make me one happy gamer.

I have recently seen the video promoting Samsung SSD's where an enthusiast took 24x 250GB Samsung SSD's and striped them in RAID 0, he achieved a sustained read speed of 2GB/s. This is clearly a Godly feat and proves that SSD's perform at an unprecedented level. At an unheard of 6TB of total storage, this 24 drive array is clearly FTW.

    Awesome.

An SSD would help me out by not having to rely any more on my current raid setup. This would not only provide the obvious advantages of an ssd, but allow me to have the speeds i want without trusting all my files to a raid 0 setup. As much as i would love to own an SSD, winning one is most likely the only way i will own one in the near future, until the price per gigabyte substantially drops.

If I had an SSD, I would not install it in my current computer shown in my mods rigs, I would hold onto it and install it as an OS drive in my EVGA based rig I am currently saving to build (which will also be my first ground-up build), as can be seen in my sig/MR, I am using an old system, and haven't had anything more than just acceptable to game on in a long time, and I think adding an SSD to my planned i5 750/ EVGA P55 based system will make my new computer that much better.

I would use the SSD primarily for my OS (W7 Ultimate), and i would also have Visual Studio 2010 on it for my biggest hobby, programming, im certain that it would increase my produktivity on larger projects (that sometimes include over 500 files), as im currently limited by my 500 gb 7200 rpm drive. It would deffinately have a huge impact on the way i use my computer, it would help me multitasking and overall give a more pleasant expereince when using the pc.

Fortunalty I already have 2 SSD drives. None of which I would trade for any mechanical drive on the market today. They are extremely fast. So fast that I find it hard to use a system with out an SSD drive. Another SSD drive would allow me to build a 3rd system or add it to a notebook. Which is probably what i would do with it. Allowing me to show off my super fast system to others who don't think that an SSD drive would improve there speed by much.

After upgrading to W7 64bit, I've found my 4GB RAM to be occasionally a limiting factor.  High DDR2 prices and my usage patterns lead me to an SSD-based swap file as a cost-effective upgrade that will breathe new life into my system.

An SSD results in less heat and uses less electricity for a green environmentally friendly PC while benefitting me with an additional speed boost in boot time and faster access time than a mechanical Hard Drive.

Well of course an SSD in my system might be a perfect solution for my OS.  I'd like to get a good comparison between my RAID 0 Velociraptors  and a single SSD.  Possibly just using it for the page file would give me a boost.  Either way it would be fun trying a few things out without the initial cost outlay.

I have always been planning on getting a netbook for school, but manufacturers always want alot of extra cash for windows 7 or SSDs. I would really enjoy using something quick and fast and secure for my school work on a day to day basis. I hope that eventually i can get a netbook with an SSD. EVGA is my favorite company when it comes to what i need for my entertainment and productivity and would love to extend that cycle for a long time to come.

When I started shopping for parts for my very first build (Abrams) I didn't know of such hard drives called SSDs.  I saw a picture of a turtle with a rocket on its back which linked me to a video on EVGA.com about the P55 platform combined with an SSD.  I watched the PC next to the SSD rigged PC lag by about 50-75% and was blown away and also kind of angry I didn't purchase an SSD with my new system.  So I went looking online for an SSD and I was blown away and angry at the same time again.  This was by the price at which it cost to acquire an SSD.  So by winning one here on EVGA I can give my wallet a rest and my PC the boost it needs!

So I have tasted how wonderful SSD's are.  I use it for my main desktop and everything loads up great on it.  Whether it is game or just some light photo/video editing.  ZOOM ZOOM ZOOM!!!  But then I have my laptop.  Before I always wanted a bigger drive on there for storage.  But with the small portable drives nowadays.  I can sacrifice that space and use a SSD.  So if I were to win this SSD, I will install it in my laptop for the boost in performance.  Not only will I have the speed in the comfort of my own home, but now I will have it on the go as well.

I've never owned a SSD drive yet, and that mostly had to do with pricing. As seen all over the internet they are quite a handful on performance. Owning one of these with seriously help in booting up Windows and/or loading some of those intense games out today.
Currently i just started uses Sata 7200 rpm drives and getting one of these would greatly help out for faster responce times and even when it comes down to transfering files, pics, music, etc. Faster is always better and thats what everyone at EVGA wants more of.

An SSD would finally allow me to use my EVGA powered gaming machine to it's limits. It'll allow me to frag more people while others are still waiting for their game to load!
