My m.2 SSD isn't showing up in the BIOS, what can I do?

Last Update: 2016/01/28

Make sure that the m.2 slot is enabled in BIOS first. Be aware that depending on the motherboard, this may affect PCIe lane distribution on your PCIe slots, disable a PCIe slot altogether, or disable SATA ports depending on your motherboard. Please see your motherboard manufacturer's manual for more information. Also be aware that there are m.2 SATA and m.2 PCIe SSDs. an m.2 SATA drive will not work in an m.2 slot that uses PCIe lanes, and a m.2 PCIe drive will not function in an m.2 slot that uses SATA lanes. As of November 2015, our current boards support: x99 Classified and Micro2: m.2 PCIe only z170 FTW and Classified: m.2 PCIe and SATA
