FAQ

My Z270 motherboard is unable to detect my M.2 drive, or I cannot enter NVMe RAID configuration.

Last Update: 2017/09/12

You cannot detect M.2 drives or enter the NVMe RAID config (raid heading does not show up at all, heading is missing) if you do not have a UEFI GPU. You will need a 700 series or newer video card to use these features of z270 motherboards.

The Intel HD Graphics of the Intel Kaby Lake or Skylake processors will allow M.2 detection. The boards come with video outputs to run the monitor/s from Intel HD Graphics. Please be sure to remove any PCIe video cards before connecting monitor/s to motherboard video output/s or the motherboard may throw a D7 error and not complete POST.
