FAQ

When attempting to install the Nvidia drivers in Windows 10 after installing a new video card, I receive the message "The Nvidia graphic driver is not compatible with this version of Windows".

Last Update: 2017/05/21

If you receive this message, your Windows 10 version needs to be at least build version 1511 to use current Nvidia drivers.

To see what version of Windows you are currently using"

  • Press + R, to bring up the run dialogue.
  • Type "winver" (without the quotes) into the search bar.

If you have an earlier version of Windows, run Windows Update and install any updates that need to be installed. Once Windows has been fully updated, you should be able to install the Nvidia drivers without issue.

If you still are unable, you will need to run a manual update as outlined here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3118754
