what is this header?

right under where the PCI slot break is located. it's a 15-pin connector with the name HDMI_HEADER1 on it. from a little research, it says it's a front audio connector. but the front audio is handled by the yellow connector to the left of this one. so what is it?

    One Intel high-definition Audio/Modem Link (2x8 HDMI connector). It sends these signlas:

    1 ACZ_BITCLK
    2 GND
    3 -ACZ_RST
    4 VCC3
    5 ACZ_SYNC
    6 GND
    7 ACZ_SDOUT
    8 VCC3
    9 ACZ_SDIN0
    10 +12V
    11 ACZ_SDIN1
    12 No Pin
    13 ACZ_SDIN3
    14 3VDUAL
    15 ACZ_SDIN2
    16 GND
     
    I'm pretty sure you use it with an add-in card like this one:

    And you use the connector it shows at the bottom to link them. It was never widely adopted because the HDMI signal is unencrypted when traveling between the HDMI header on the board and the ADD2 card.

    Yeh, it was a good idea at the time just not well thought out I guess. Not really worth the investment now
