just finsh putting together a future folding farm.

And just running some # to test out the cpu scores (2x x5680)

I don't have time to play with it too much, but I was able to OC to 4.5GHz without much issues.

This cpu run like a dream!!! And the SR-2 is an amazing mobo, and very easy to OC!

Gotta Thanks KT9394 for the SR-2 mobo, and Marcam923 for the awesome 2x X5680 CPU

and ALSO Peter Tan aka Shamino for putting his hard work on the SR-2 !!!!!! keep it coming man!!!

here is some cpu scores, I will try get it stable for folding in the coming weeks......

The System is aircooled with 2x thermalright Venomous X Heatsink with 4x Ultra Kaze.

MY room temp is around 80F because of all my other folding systems. So it is a hot room, but the pair of X5680 is running nice and cool.. Love this thing!!!!

Marc, you are DA MAN!!!!! Thanks Again for the CPU

1.34v, what is the max clock speed that you can reach with stock voltage?

EVGA SR2 at 200 Bclk, default voltages
    2xXeon E5645 at 3800MHz Turbo on, default voltages, 2xCoolerMaster V6GT
    2x24Gb Kit GSkill Ripjaws 9-9-9-24 1600MHz  (12x4Gb)
    4xZotac GTX480 Quad-SLI, default clocks and voltages
    2x WD Caviar Black 2Tb 7200 RPM
    Silverstone Strider ST1500W

get some pictures of that rig up! great scores by the way.  What are you expecting for PPD

    48GBs of Ram
    38 cores
    16Tb
    never enough...

A2 core bigadv work units running in native Linux, I'd venture to guess somewhere in the 115k PPD range, if not higher.

    I calculated 130K ppd at 4.4GHz: http://forums.evga.com/fb.ashx?m=239594

Stop teasing us and run a bigadv test so we know for sure!

Do you have a power analyzer so you can tell the wattage at full load?

I also found it difficult to get beyond 180-185 bclk on my X5670.

Those look like idle temps - I'd like to see temps under load.

If you look under the maximum temps his load temps are there ;)

Yeah, but a 1 minute Prime benchmark isn't going to get it anywhere near "max".

got to work some crazy shift in the next few days, so i will get it stable for bigadv after i have some free time. and post the PPD in due time....

i don't have a voltage meter for the wattages.

to get higher bclk on the 56xx.. is IOH vcore and VTT , and QPI signal on the SR-2.

hey i have a request...can you dl and run the x264 HD benchmark?

    [link=http://www.techarp.com/showarticle.aspx?artno=520&pgno=0#download]http://www.techarp.com/sh...20&pgno=0#download[/link]

the main purpose of me purchasing a dual socket overclockable board like this would be x264 1080p encodes and this is obviously the best benchmark to show the performance of a monster like this. i am pretty sure that x264 will scale great across all 24 threads. it would be cool to see the benchmark run at stock speeds and then again after a decent overclock. im running a 2.66 ghz xeon quadcore @ 4 ghz now for my encoding and it would be sweet to just about double its performance.

    thanks
