So last night I was playing some Crysis warhead when I got to the final boss. After killing him, my screen flickered for a second and then some artifacts showed up. So I decided to see if one of my cards was going bad.
I installed Furmark (1.8.0) and ran it (1680x1050, fullscreen mode). As I was watching it, I noticed that my second GPU was not heating up AT ALL. When my top card got to 60C my bottom card was still @ 47C.

I stopped it and checked to make sure that SLI was enabled, it was. I also switched to alternate frame rendering mode in the NVCP, no change.

Also, another thing I have noticed is that Precision doesn't report GPU load with these cards, why is that?

PS: I'm running XP SP3 (x86) and using the 197.13 driver.

One more thing I wanted to add was that I noticed Precision reported that furmark runs in OpenGL (OGL) and not in DX9. Could that possibly be the problem? If it is, how do I make furmark run in DX9?

Yep yep, exactly the same issue here with the 197.13 (beta or whql) not playing well with Precision..It seems to be another NVIDIA driver issue yet again (for the second or third friggin time in a row)..Roll back to the 196.21_whql or the 196.34_beta and u should be good again..Or better yet, do a clean install using the Driver Sweeper utility..Good luck.

With furmark you must un-check the post processing box in the lower left corner to load both cards.

And there you have it, thank you very much sir. In this new version (1.8.0) it's in the middle "Run Mode" box, and the option is called Post FX.

I actually tried earlier with some other drivers I had saved and it didn't make a difference, but Danno hit the nail on the head. Thanks for the reply BTW.
