"I was just informed by a trusted source that EVGA is pulling back GTX 670 stock from e-tailers/retailers. We contacted another AIB and it reported to us that no recall had been initiated by NVIDIA so this "recall" seems to not be product wide. We are waiting on written replies from EVGA and NVIDIA at this time."

Could EVGA staff make a comment on this rumor?

Not exactly true on this. We have been very honest and open with what is going on on the GTX 670 Superclock card. See below:

Thank you for your patience over this weekend. We have an update on this issue now.

We have isolated this problem to an early batch of GTX 670 Superclock cards that were not properly screened during QA/QC procedure. We have already been working with our partners to retest this particular batch. In the meantime, our R&D has also done numerous tests, burn in and component quality verification to confirm that the EVGA GTX 670 Superclock is a well designed product.

However, if you do receive the EVGA GTX 670 Superclock card with any issues, please contact me at jacobf@evga.com so we can offer a special cross shipment replacement as we previously stated.

    Thanks,

If Nvidia is recalling the silicon, its not just EVGA, everyone would have to pull their products. Would be interesting to know what component is in question however.

if there is a recall(whether evga or nvidia) does it have anything to do with the smaller pcb(perhaps the reason that SC versions are being upgraded to the FTW) as other factory OC versions(gigabyte, asus,&galaxy) have custom "full sized" pcbs?

Does this address the people with Vanilla 670's who are also having to RMA?  I keep seeing posts of people saying "Just got my regular 670 and it works great!" only to be followed up in a day or two with "my cards finally died, RMA started".

Most of them seem to be SC version related, but are now seeing more from the vanilla as well.  I wonder if this is because the sales numbers of the SC version are so much higher than the vanilla?  Meaning: the failure rate is the same on both, there just hasn't been enough vanilla version sold to really compare.

I think this is a rumor, if you do get a bad card then send it back to evga and they'll replace it or upgrade it. It is not a recall. with that said, I hope my 670's coming wont need to be sent back.

doubt it. It appears to be a small batch that is affected, my question is which regions are affected? US and Canada? US only?

Another question is what serial #'s are affected, didn't see anything yet posted (unless I missed it)
