One Month old SR-2 with Awesome Procs and 96 GB ram ... For Free Sure!!!! :) I tried to get my SR-2 to get 96 GB using HP dimms but that failed lol. I work for a pretty cutting edge tech company but we are not getting the e5's just yet on our server side. That is neat to get to play with That new of hardware? What company do you work with? if i may ask?

The number 2 in the E5 nomenclature means theses CPU's go into a 2-way capable board. Presumably, wideboy has access to four Dual 2011 boards, the non-enthusiast versions of EVGA's upcoming SR-X sometime in March 2012. As for memory, 16GB and 32GB dimms exist, so use your imagination.

The idea behind the support list is that EVGA has pre-tested them, any problems were/are being addressed and applied to future BIOS updates, that if any of you have a problem they can duplicate to help you. Since the buying and selling of ES' are illegal, and that EVGA won't list them officially in their motherboard support lists for SR-X, you run the risk of voiding your mainboard warranty should there be a problem. Chances are E5-26xx won't work properly in anyone's X79, just like EVGA had to enable support for Xeon 5500/5600 on X58, it wasn't there by default. Lastly, discussion of buying/selling ES' on EVGA forums violates the TOS, so keep it on the downlow if you must.

He was talking of selling 5690's. Though even getting the new processors to play with is something no one i would bet could predict. So your saying it was enough for a month. well i bet even now it's truly enough, but having those in hand makes you Want to move beyond. which is a bit different then saying not enough.

Your correct on all accounts, these aren't mine to sell let alone talk about - just posted pic to whet any potential SR-X buyers appetite 'bios permitting' of course - talking of which, I wonder if the SR-X bios will allow for 64GB dimm's, I've seen a fair few of them recently too :-)

Glad to have helped clear up the misconceptions! Thank you for the preview of the new CPU's would love updates on how they work for you once you get them up and running. And if you do decide to carry threw with selling your already built system I am interested and sent a pm to you already.

If anything, I'll leave it for other people's benefit. Overclocking thesedays is seen as a means to an end and not for the overclock anymore, so they will be tempted.

Beyond the SR-X and recently announced quad Intel board, I have not seen much info on 2+ socket 2011 boards.
