Some questions for people overclocking a 3930k on the EVGA X79 SLI:

1) What VCCIO voltage are you using?
2) Are you using the PLL voltage override?
3) when using the "Without Vdroop" setting are you seeing large spikes in voltage when under load? Eg: When CPU voltage is set to 1.36v in the BIOS, the idle V in windows is 1.36v but it jumps to 1.43v when under load.
4) What PLL voltage are you using?

Thanks in advance.

If anyone cares, I've got the system stable now at 4.5GHz.  In the beginning, I was having an issue running any overclock at all, even 3.9GHz.  After trying a few different options I found the culprit to be the VCCSA voltage.  I set this to 1.0V instead of Auto; this solved the stability issues.

    Current Settings
    CPU:  4500MHz (BCLK = 100, Multiplier = 45)
    RAM:  1866MHz @ 9-10-9-27 1.65V
VCore:  1.34V (This still jumps to 1.41V when under load)
    VCCIO:  1.0V
    PLL:  1.8V
    VCCSA:  1.0V
    PLL Override = Disabled

Thanks!  I wish more people would contribute so when I set up my rig, I'll have something to go by.  I, of course, will do the same when I get mine done.

1.1 Vcore?  Holy crap!  You got lucky!  What cooling?  Also, any other voltage change?  What settings did you change to achieve your OC?

no, on the vccsa, vcore is in offset mode +150 to give me a max of 1.55, throttles back to stock when not needed, i dont use a permanent oc, we pay for the technology imma use it, i rem the ole 990x, had to lock it in always ran at the designated oc

+1, this was one of the main reasons I went to Sandy Bridge, love being able to run at 4.8Ghz with SpeedStep enabled.

This board is a nightmare to overclock. Just sticking with stock until a better bios is out

the trick to it is when you go to make changes... before anything else... restore defaults... make all your changes... then save and be done with it.

when changing your multi, you must go back and check CPU configuration sub menus as well.  other than that it's pretty aight... but i'm excited about the upcoming update.

Are you having specific issues?  After raising the VCCSA voltage, I have found this board to be very easy to OC.
