I just want to remind everyone here with ATI cards that the 9.12 catalyst drivers are going to be released tomorrow.  Remember, these are the ones that are supposed to make the 5700/5800/5900 cards shine like has never been seen before.  Only time will tell.

To be honest, I am stoked...  I'm wondering how in the world they could get any better from that of how they run with the 9.11 drivers?  Remember, there are hardly any benchmarks out there using even the 9.11 drivers, so hopefully these live up to their name and give the cards some much needed and warranted exposure.  As we all know, those first round of benchmarks used the HORRIBLE 9.8A and 9.10 RC6 beta drivers.

Let the games begin.  Don't let me down ATI!!!

    I have a few annoying graphic bugs in borderlands forcing me to use 9.10 hope they fix some of the crap iv been putting up with.seems for me at least crossfire scale is not so good in borderlands and alot of other games i play dirt 2 is one of the only games and left 4 dead were the scale for xfire is good..

    god i don't understand why they cant let users make there own crossfire profile like nvidia..that crap drives me insane

    I'm not excited.

    Every time an announcement about an amazing driver comes out it sucks. EVERY single time. Only one that amazed me were those 9.12beta's, because they showed that these cards are no joke in Crysis WH.

    If they can do that and give me an epic "wow" factor, they suck. Suck suck suck suck suck.

    Remember, those 8.663.1 drivers you are referring to are not true 9.12 betas.  They are a branch off of the 9.10 catalyst drivers.

    I am hoping for the best but preparing for the worst.  I have no problem with staying with the dirt2 hotfix drivers indefinitely though.

    I am thinking since discussions of this particular driver has been being talked about since September/October, that it means something.  Usually, it is just "man, next months 9.x drivers are supposed to be awesome," rather than what this scenario entails; "man, the 9.x drivers which are going to be released in 3 months from now are supposed to be great"...

    Only 24 more hours to tell though...

    They never had a name so I just refer to them as the 9.12's only because there were 10's, 11's... etc. There's no true beta's, you're right, but since this is coming out tomorrow it doesn't hurt to refer to them as one.

    I hope they change the interface to something pretty, like the NVCPL.

    Holy Crap Holy Crap OMG WoW Amazed Truly Astounding!!!!!!!!!!

    I just whipped up 165fps on Dirt 2 with 1920x1080 on ultra preset @ 8xmsaa!!!!  With the Dirt 2 hotfix drivers, I got 80fps with the same settings, and with regular CF, I got 97fps with the same settings with the Dirt 2 hotfix drivers!!!  My vid is up on youtube if you want to see it!!!  These gave me >100% better performance in Dirt 2 in Tri-Fire!!!  This is the only game I tested it on so far.  I'm going to bed now and will be back tomorrow to post vids of this on youtube.

    GUYS/GALS, I think ATI finally came through with a decent driver, FINALLY!!! This run was at 100% bone stock 850/1200 clock speeds!!!  Forget overclocking LoL

    EDIT:  I Finally got what I paid for!  Thank goodness gracious

    Check these numbers out then:

    9.11 hot fix driver: 32k
    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=1679872

    9.12 driver: 34k
    http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=1691926

    Yes I realize it's just 3D mark but it's still indicative of quite a significant performance jump. 2 thousand points off just a driver is one hell of a bang if you ask me.

    I seriously can't wait to get home now!  My HD 5970s were just delivered to my house yesterday evening and I'm stuck over here, 300 miles away at the University of California, studying for my last final exam tomorrow morning. Wish me luck, this present is definitely going to be worth it!

    Can't wait to give these a try! Going to be sweet goodness in a box! I was having some issues with Dirt stuttering it seemed, so i looked around, uninstalled that audio application it installed, and that seemed to fix the problem. but on that game, everything maxed with one 5850 i get a min of 51 and a max of about 60, so my other 2 cards will be here Thursday, coupled with this new driver, it will be untouchable.

    There's a few of us on this forum that have them. IMO the 5850 is where it is at once the price comes down to MSRP. It was originally suppose to be at 269 something, but you can have the cheapest one on the egg right now for about 309 and that is ASUS. My single XFX 5850 is scoring about 18k in vantage oc'd.

    Okay, been hearing good things so I couldn't resist to install it.

    These run exactly like the 8.663.1's (9.12beta's or w/e you wanna call them).

    I get the same results in Crysis WH:
    12/16/2009 07:47:50 - Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
    DirectX 10 ENTHUSIAST 3X @ Map: ambush @ 0 1920 x 1080 AA 0x
    ==> Framerate [ Min: 40.96 Max: 76.89 Avg: 62.62 ]

    12/16/2009 07:52:32 - Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
    DirectX 10 ENTHUSIAST 3X @ Map: ambush @ 0 1920 x 1080 AA 4x
    ==> Framerate [ Min: 35.19 Max: 66.73 Avg: 51.76 ]

    12/16/2009 07:59:05 - Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
    DirectX 10 ENTHUSIAST 3X @ Map: ambush @ 0 1920 x 1080 AA 8x
    ==> Framerate [ Min: 19.14 Max: 63.28 Avg: 45.75 ]

    For some stupid reason it still hates 8xAA... get that dumb stuttering.

    Vantage Score is still the similar too: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dmv=1692341

    Dirt 2 Ultra Preset:

    <results samples="6747" min_fps="67.515343" av_fps="79.563393" min_fps_ms="14.811448" av_fps_ms="12.568594" />

    You should know me by now at least. 1k's posts probably don't say my inteligence, but they don't mean I'm stupid.

    I driver sweep every install of driver since the good old days of 170's.
