After installing my GT 220 into the compatible spot in the motherboard, Windows started normally then automatically installed the driver and the a "restart computer" window popped up. After attempting to restart, the DELL screen appeared as if everything was fine then went to a blank screen for about 5min, and then the blue screen of death appeared.  After that it went back the the DELL startup screen and repeated the process. Windows Vista will not start with the new video card installed. Any advice?

My computer info:

Dell Inspiron 530
OS
Vista 32 bit
350W output
12v/18a

Reseat the card, make sure the power connections are in, boot into safe mode, use driver cleaner pro to clean out your old drivers, download latest Nvidia drivers, be happy.

I'm having a similar problem. I purchased and installed the card 3 days ago. I worked fine for the first day, but ever since then, it freezes at various points during start up. Sometimes its before I hit the desktop, other times it's before. My computer just freezes. A few times I've gotten the blue screen of death, but only a few. I can start up in safe mode and run that way no problem however. Tried all of the suggestions above and nothing worked. Any other ideas? Should I see about returning the card?

    Vista 64 bit

For some reason, it worked for me to connect via D-SUB/VGA rather than DVI. Who knows why...

For more info, see my comments on someone else's blog post.

By the way I've got an ASUS ENGT220 running on Windows 7 64-bit, but this problem seems to be plaguing Nvidia GT220 cards from most (all?) vendors.

    Good luck!

I have the GT 220 and am having the same problems. I have tried 5 different versions of the driver and even reinstalled the OS to make sure it was all clean. Everything works fine before the drivers are loaded, or when I am in safe mode.. but I cant get past the welcome screen when I log in after drivers are installed.

    I am using Windows 7 x64
    MSI P45-NEO3-FR
    Intel Core 2 Quad
    2gb Ram

If I cant get this figured out soon, Im going to send the card back and get an ATI. I have never had a problem with their cards or drivers. This is my first Nvidia experience, and it is not a good one.
