When did the EAR program start?
The EAR program was offered to the public on Nov. 8th 2006
How do I Sign Up?
Customers must purchase an EVGA product on or after November 1st 2006 and are required to register the product within 30 days of the purchase date and purchase an EAR plan at the time of registration to take advantage of this premium service. During the registration process, you will be asked if you want to participate in the EAR program. Please note that during the registration process is the ONLY TIME customers will be able to purchase an EAR plan. (See
below for a chart showing the available plans and pricing)
Can I purchase the EAR after my product been registered?
After the registration process is complete customers will no longer have the option to enter the EAR program. In order to enter your product into the program you must login to the website and select the "Purchase Advanced RMA" button during the registration process.
Who Qualifies?
Only EVGA products registered within 30 days of the purchase date will qualify for the EAR program at the time of registration. Customers past the 30 day period will not have any option to enter the program, but will still be permitted to use the standard RMA process. Currently EAR is only available to residents in the continental US. Hawaii, Alaska, APO/FPO, and military addresses are not included. We are working on expanding this program to cover other regions and countries, please stay tuned for future announcements on our site at http://www.evga.com.
How will this program speed up the RMA process?
Sign into the EVGA website, visit My Products, and click the Activate Advanced RMA button. Since everything is prepaid you will only need to submit a credit card for the cross shipment after your submitted EAR request has been approved (See "What is a Cross Shipment?" below for more information) and your replacement product will be on its way. Once your invoice is approved and a credit card entered for collateral on the My Products page, EVGA will send a replacement product directly to you. Depending on the plan purchased, included with the replacement product will be a prepaid shipping label to send the defective product back. All of this limits the down time for you and relieves stress.
What is a Cross Shipment?
The EAR program is the only way to guarantee a cross shipment from EVGA. Cross shipments allow you to receive the replacement product before having to send your defective product back. This allows you to keep your system running as long as possible. In order to perform a cross shipment you will have to provide EVGA with a valid credit card. After replacement product delivery if the defective product is not returned within 14 days your credit card will be charged the full amount of the replacement product. EVGA does not offer cross shipments on the standard RMA process.
How does the Proof of Purchase process work?
When a customer requires an RMA, they will be instructed to send in a copy of their invoice. In the event that the invoice you provide to EVGA shows you do not meet the criteria for the EAR program, your product will be removed from the EAR program and you will be credited the amount paid in EVGA bucks. You can then use the EVGA bucks towards a future purchase on the EVGA website.
What is the EAR Refund Policy?
EVGA does not offer any refunds on the EAR program. All sales are final. If during the RMA approval stage it is discovered a customer does not meet the required criteria, all funds will be credited back in the form of EVGA Bucks and the product will be removed from the EAR program.
Does the EAR program extend to my other products?
No, when you purchase an EAR plan it is attached to a single product. If you would like to have the EAR extended coverage for additional products you will need to purchase a plan for each individual product.
If I perform a Step-Up on my EAR product is the replacement Product covered?
No, only the original product assigned the EAR plan will be covered. You will have an opportunity to purchase a new EAR plan for your replacement product at the time of registration.
If I perform an RMA on my EAR product is the replacement Product covered?
There is a 30 day grace period for the replacement product where it is covered by the original product's EAR plan. In order to cover a replacement product with an EAR plan, you will need to purchase another EAR plan at the time of registration. In the event that the replacement card becomes defective within 30 days of replacement and you purchased a new EAR plan, you will be credited with EVGA Bucks equal to the amount you paid for the plan.
I do not have a purchase Invoice/ receipt; can I still request an EAR?
No, EVGA will need the invoice/ receipt to verify that you qualify for the EAR program. The EAR request
will not be processed without an invoice/receipt.
How long will the EAR process take when I submit a request?
The Invoice/receipt approval takes 24-48 hours.
Once an RMA number has been issued and credit card information accepted, it will generally take 1-2
business days for the replacement product to ship.
Why am I required to submit an invoice/receipt?
For EVGA to verify you qualify and meet the requirements for the EAR program.
Why am I required to provide a credit card again when performing an EAR, after the fact that I
already paid for the EAR plan when I registered?
You enter the credit card the first time to pay for the EAR plan. When requesting to perform an EAR, the credit card information is required again to be affixed as collateral with the RMA Number issued.
When requesting to perform an EAR, will I need access to my email account?
Yes, the EAR is an online service. All steps and instructions are emailed to the customer.
