Thanks for your answer. I've just restored my Windows XP from the image and it turns out that DisplayLink Core Software had been there before the latest Windows Update. I guess in that case, considering my specs and the fact that none of the applications that I use specifically requires DisplayLink drivers, I don't need to waste time updating them from Windows Updates. My theory is that DisplayLink Core Software was factory installed by Hewlett Packard together with other bloatware.
