HaVoK-G2 -> Windows 7 / 790i Network Disconnect trouble (7/7/2009 11:30:02 PM)

 I've been running Windows 7 a few days and have been coming across an odd problem. If I'm downloading under 500KB/s it's okay.

But if I go over 1200+KB/s... within a few minutes the little network status icon in the bottom right of the toolbar will say network disconnected, or no network. Then I can't access the internet, or even my router.

It's only fixed by restarting windows.

I've tried going into device manager --> Network adapters --> Properties on the network adapters --> Disable / uncheck "Allow computer to turn off this device to save power" on both of them. (Searched around and found that sometimes happened in Vista too) Also set the power scheme to high performance.

I'm running the 15.35 Windows 7 nForce driver.
790i Ultra with p07 bios.

Try the following, I found this solution elsewhere and it seemed to help me when I had this issue.
Open your device manager.
Locate your network adapter, right click it and click Properties.
Click the Advanced tab.
Scroll down and select 'Receive Side Scaling' and change the value on the right side to 'Disable'.

Click ok and see if this corrects the issue.

Good luck!

Uninstall the nvidia network driver and use the windows 7 driver instead.  I had pretty much the same problem.  Mine would disconnect often.  I thought it was my router because windows reported that the problem was it couldn't find the gateway.  A repair connection was done and would fix it but it would disconnect a few minutes later.  I then found an old forum where someone had the same issue and fixed it with a different driver.  So i uninstalled the nvidia network driver and used the one that came with Windows 7.  That solved it.  It hasn't disconnected once since i did it.  Apparently the nvidia network drivers suck.

uninstall only the NVIDIA NETWORK SOFTWARE and you will be fine.stay with the nvidia driver for the network adapter

I too am having this problem. Ive uninstalled the nvidia network controllers and havent been disconnected since. I'm waiting on an official fix before I reinstall them.
