Decided to give folding a try, wanted to see how my system did. Also it gives me a reason to finish watercooling my gaming rig.

Hey guys, I just started folding as well. Brazen told me of this noble project and I wanna give it a try. I can't promise that I'll be folding 24/7, but a couple of times a day shouldn't be all that difficult. I'm folding with an 580GTX SSC SLI setup. Now, this is where it becomes interesting. I could fold with my GTX295 just fine, but since I switched I cannot start the folding process. My stats are frozen on "Name: User-123", "Team: Team-456" and so on. The error(log) keeps re-downloading a FAH core and that's about it. [20:15:47] Calling fah_main args: 14 usage=100 [20:15:47] [20:15:50] CoreStatus = 63 (99) [20:15:50] + Error starting Folding@Home core. [20:15:50] Folding@Home will go to sleep for 1 day as there have been 5 consecutive Cores executed which failed to complete a work unit. [20:15:50] (To wake it up early, quit the application and restart it.) [20:15:50] If problems persist, please visit our website at http://folding.stanford.edu for help. [20:15:50] + Sleeping...

Jedi's tracker is easiest. And now you have to switch to nVidia Fermi.

I've become a little peeved with how Kyle Bennett treats his forum users and decided to jump ship from Team [H] to Team EVGA. Currently rocking FAH GPU Tracker V2, folding on a GTX460, i5 750, and X4 460. Might also be throwing an 8800GT into the mix.

Folded a whopping 36K in 2010. Started up again recently. The budget is tight so I can't fold constantly but I'm committed to 100K a month minimum which is about $10 of electricity more a month. Once cash flow improves I want to build a dedicated rig. With SMP + 580 + 430 running +bigadv I'm pulling down about 38K PPD. If I run without +bigadv it drops to about 31K. Not huge, but every little bit helps! Anyway, I figured I ought to formally say hey to the rest of the group since I mainly lurk in the 500 series / P55 series forums.

Was going through the evga site and came across the folding section. I don't know much about folding. Saw that it helps with finding solutions for cancer so I downloaded it and started folding. I will read the forum and find out if I can do anything more. Any advice you can give me will help. Thanks, Bill

Welcome to the team both of you!! First... Please list the specs of what you guys are folding with. That way we can tell you the best clients for your machines. Second...Are you going to be folding 24/7 or just once in a while? This will also help us determine which client you should use. The easiest program to use is GPU tracker I can be found here Make sure you have your folding name in the middle column at the bottom here That will entitle you to EVGA Bucks If you are folding on your CPU make sure you get a passkey from Stanford here You have to do 10 smp clients before you can get the bonus points. Again, welcome to the team!

Thats a nice set up. Get your passkey and do 10 SMP clients, once you finish them (should only take a few days) then enable the bigadv box in GPU tracker and wait for the big points to roll in. The bigadv's take about 2-21/2 days to finish depending on which one you get. Thats folding 24/7. Oh, you may want to try to bump the OC on your CPU to 3.8. That will help out a bunch.

In this link look on the lest side column see where it says user and under it, it has my number? Now search for your folding name, once you find it look in the same place my number was and thats yours. I tried to search for Gryphon but you didn't show up. Thats because you are either folding under a diff name or Stanford hasn't gotten you in the system yet.
