The mods are working evry hard to try and keep this thread clean. We are trying our best to continue to allow this thread to keep on course but if repeated TOS violations occur then we will ask EVGA management for permission to lock it down.

Please give some examples of TOS violations where this thread is concerned. I'm sure you can use the deleted posts as an example. And use the whole posts by all means I give you permission to use mine as an example of how/what is OK and not OK. I'm simply after truth here as well.

Sorry, but we will not be bringing back any of the deleted posts. They were deleted for a reason and bringing them back would be unproductive.
If you have questions about what constitutes a TOS violation here is a link to the Terms of Service.
    http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=4682
As an example of a TOS we can use one of the more common ones like off topic posting. Your quoted question above would be an example of such. It pertains to a question on the TOS but is posted in a thread about a powerboost module.

I will continue to delete off topic posts. If the post does not relate specifically to the power boost just consider it as disappearing as soon as I see it. Why waste your time posting something you now know will not be there in a few moments?

Just looking for an update on the shipment of these.  I applied for the free one within the 75 limit and have not heard anything since.  Curious when they will begin shipping them is all.

            Sorry, but...
Good news/Bad News. If you got anything back from EVGA regarding the 75... good news
Bad news: if you've heard nothing from EVGA... EVGA is claiming stock for orders (normal AFAIK) shipping early quantitis Early JAN '11. I'd call to verify whether you are marked as "IN" for the next shipment. JIMO... YMMV

I think I was very 1st one to sign up for free one and I still haven't heard anything. I don't think EVGA had any quantities of these to send other than to certain people to test and/or were having serious issues. Seems none will start shipping until next month sometime at the earliest (even the free ones).

Just out of curiousity I just spent over 3k on a new computer.  I have the new Classified 3 (E770) with 2 EVGA GTX580 FTW HC2 in SLI.  On top of that my cpu is oc'd to 4.4 GHz.  Is this something i need to consider i checked my voltages and my 12v is running at 12.11  Am i at risk of drawing too much power through my 24 pin and risking a burn out or has this problem been resolved with the new Classified 3 boards.  After spending that much on a build i'd hate to be crippled due to a blown pin on my 24 connector.

The 770 already has the molex built in to the board. Plug it in.

Its all plugged in now running at 12.18 on the 12v i haven't started overclocking the cards but maybe this will help with some of the issues i've been getting while gaming.

Hm, I was wondering if this might help the incredibly low overclocking headroom I've been experiencing with my GTX580, In GPU-Z, my 12v rail seems to vary from 11.89 to 11.91, which looks pretty low. My overclocks at 1.15v are lower than what I've seen some people get at less than 1.1v I'm definitely interested in this part if it can help out my situation.

It can help stabilize the +12V rail in some cases.

Jacob I've asked earlier in this thread but you or no one seems to have a reply ,would this benefit a 790I Ultra with SLI 480's

so i understand that this addresses a problem with 24 pin connectors overheating, but what exact configurations of hardware caused this problem to begin with?  should i be worried about my gtx470sli?

                                        Hello,
I bought an Asus sound card Xonar D2X PCI-Express and wont fit in the MB, so had to buy the Creative labs one and still waiting. I have EVGA X58 SLI Classified + 2 x GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 and an Asus ENGT 240 for Physix, Seem all free slots are covered, I wonder if this power boost can be placed under the cards, I mean in free slots covered by cards.

I have been following this new product with interest! My psu just died and I am in the process of rmaing it. My question is do you think that the power boost will relieve stress off of the psu all together? I know that it is supposed to help with the strain on the 24pin, but do you think that power boost will help with the rest of the psu as well?

I don't know why a company would try to charge its own customer for a design flaw "fix".  It should be free of charge to anyone that owns a EVGA X58 mobo. That would make customers feel better.

It's called "Cover up the design flaw so they dont have to admit flaw's" and with such a great company you would wonder why they would not admit it and offer this for free to cut down on the cost of rma's.Oh well, nobody's perfect and they had to slip up sooner or later.I still prefer their product's over most other's for the customer service and hope this is a isolated incident!

is this why my TAGAN power supply fried????

I have the Cosmos S case and it comes with an  extra extention on the 24 pin cable to run power to the touch / power on button. I noticed when my Tagan stopped working that the  extra 24 pin extention/ connection had black burn marks on it lol. I did not know a design flaw caused my PSU to go down the drain.

When it happened i had 2 x 480's in SLI being benched/ volted along with my 980x at 4.7 and my LSI raid card in a slot as well + 6 sticks of ram -_-..

DO i need to buy one of these to save myself from this design flaw for the future? Please let me know so i do not lose another 1200 watt PSU
