My new build "in progress" No tomorrow! UPDATED! Friday, November 19, 2010 7:36 AM (permalink)
12/21/2010 Newest update see post #59

Just geting a few quick pics of it up for the moment.. no time for any text desciption atm... just that its ready for me to finally add water today and spend prob the next 12 hours bleeding it hehe.

Once i finish bleeding it, i gota add the other P/S and run all the power lines and clean it up the best i can.. At the moment its messed up still from when i pulled my 760 for the step up.

Damn flash on the camera makes my red UV tubing look orange! :/

To quickly explain my water cooling setup.. I've got 1 HDW Labs 480GTX and 3 HDW Labs 360GTX rads total. Before the latest upgrade to quad SLI i only had the 1 480 and 2 360 rads. Edit: Forgot to mention the 26 GT 1850RPM and 5 GT 1450RPM fans :) Crazy money in fans.

I have 2 seperate loops.. 1 for the rads: Tripple 350 pump top - 480,360,360 rads and then to the large res. The other loop goes to jus the water blocks ( and now also the 1 360GTX rad and then to the res using another tripple 350 pump top.

So what i wanted was high power going through the rads and medium flow going through the blocks. The water flow was super extremely fast and i could not bleed the lines before as the blubbles would just get sucked back up to the pumps even with using the large EK 400ml res. So hopefully now with adding the 4th card block and the 360GTX rad to follow it will slow the flow on the blocks side. :)

Adding the other 3rd 360 rad really killed my nice tube lines since i'll have the 2nd P/S right over the 3rd 360GTX rad. What can you do...

I originally bought this huge extended Mountain mods case as i wanted a ton of rooma nd was sick of my case being crowded in the past and yet again i'm gona make it cluddered again :/

EDIT:

For those of you that want to know what fittings i used to link certain blocks, here you go!

For the above.. From the EK Supreme HF block to the EK 762 4 way MB WB.

From right to left, starting from the top of the CPU block and ending at the top of the MB block.

Bitspower IG1/4" Extender - Black Matte Finish (BP-MBWP-C40) http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=24770 (Hard to see at the bottom) was needed to raise the MB side so its level with the CPU block.

NOTE:
When doing this setup the orintation of the CPU water block. Its upside down so the "IN" port of the CPU block is on the side facing the memory slots. If you have it the other way the "IN' port would be on the other side and the fitting would not reach..

For the Evga GTX580 cards with DD GTX580 WB..

The 1" D-Plug fits perfectly for 2 card spacing with this setup!  Originally bought shinny silver as i previously was using 3x DD GTX480 All Nickel plated blocks.. Black would probably look better with the copper but to each his own.  I'll prob grab the matte black version soon and whenever i tear the water cooling apart, i'll replace them with the matte black.

I'll add more info about what i used to link the rads together soon when i get time to get some close up pics of them.

Info on the fittings on a 760/Classified 3, EK Supreme HF to EK 760 MB WB that i had prior..

I used: From CPU Block top to the EK MB block top -

NOTE: The last fitting on the mB WB side is a extension used to rise that side so its level with the CPU WB. ALso note when doing this setup the orintation of the CPU water block. Its upside down so the "IN" port of the CPU block is on the side facing the memory slots. If you have it the other way the "IN' port would be on the other side and the fitting would not reach.. also the WB mounting post would be inthe way to go to the other MB WB port.

Wanted power and quiet and i got it! I cant hear them over the fans and the fans are way quiet then what i've been used the past 15 years! I'm used to 120CFM+ screamer fans.. Boy was i freakin happy when i powered up those fans.. my wife was in total disbelief that the PC was on. hehe

True that.. Was shocking when i totalled up what was on the motherboard tray last night while i told the wife to not knock over the box that i had the motherboard tray sitting on when i installed the quad 580GTX cards.  I told here you would destroy prob $3000 grand it that fell over.. then i thought about it for a min and it was really worth about $4500!  Crazy..  My wife said it was sickining.  And thats just whats installed on the motherboard tray.

Very cool, but don't let any small children near it...they may get eaten by that beast.

Congrats my friend, that looks absolutely lovely!

I was wondering about the Danger Den waterblocks.  I am about to put 3 of them on the new 580s and I don't see a video up yet on DD's website.  I did this same thing about 6 months ago with 3 of the 470s (DD blocks on them all).  Any specific advice you have for mounting the new blocks on the 580s?  I already picked up a Torx T6 driver for the screws.  Is it pretty straight forward?

                      Thanks!

                              I am overcome with feelings.
I got a little man shouting inside

Johnny, i believe i already answered your PM.. let me know how it turns out for ya.

Fabbasi, yeah i know the feeling. No time with young kids when your a stay at home Dad!  I used to have my sister-in-law babysit 2 days a week that was in between my wifes 2 days off so i'd have 4 days in a row durring the week for plenty of time for projets like this but that stopped after the birth of my son.

Since i dont have the time anymore is why i didnt go ALL out and make my own custom case like i've done in the past.. Back then it would take me like 3+ months to do something like that but i could never find the time for that today.. Thats why i THOUGHT buying a new huge case would save me from making a huge project out of my new build but... still happend! Water cooling on this scale still become that damn 3 month plus project i didnt want.  But, it will soon be over and i'll finally have that bad ass system thats near silent that i've always wanted! hehe.

Project started at a $2 grand budget.. that got bigger and bigger as the weeks went by! lol.  Would of been alot quicker if i would of known in the begining that i would be going this large in the end.

You sure did, thanks.  I counted all 22 screws.  They came off pretty easily but you're right on about the goop on the chip:)

I am right now in the process of cleaning it off and mounting the block.

Again, many thanks for the direction!

I know it's a bit much to ask, but would love to know what fittings it takes to go from the CPU block to the 4 way chipset block. I plan on doing that as well.

I'll let you know tomrrow when i get some time.. I wish there was some site that would give you the needed info so i could of just placed one order and been done.. NOPE! Doing that kind of setup, i needed to make multipal orders as you cant find out the exaqct length of the fittings before hand. All guess work.  Buy more fittings then you'll need and waste a ton of money to get it to work. :/

Thanks a ton! That is were I am at. Fittings are the biggest PITA of the entire build and I know exactly  what you are talking about when it comes to ordering them.

Excellent! Thanks man, providing the links was over the top. Your fitting info is worth a BR in it's self and prolly worth a sticky IMO. Peeps could add to it depending on blocks used and MOBO. I will be using a different CPU block, but this helps put me miles ahead. Figure I can look up specs to each block and make a good calculation on the differences from there.

                                                        ITS ALIVE! ITS WORKING!

                                                        Update:

Busted some but late last night and get both P/Ss wired up in the case. Took me till 4 am when i first powered it on! Played around with it at default settings till 6am. :/

Had to rush some of the wiring near the end cause i was'nt gona be up that late and do all that work without being able to fire it up.

Was able to boot up with the old win7 install on the previous 760 MB so i was happy with that. Gota back everything up real quick and pull the old SSD drive and how i can install the 3 new SSD drives in the one spot i made for them. If i cant install them there i'm in real trouble as i dont see anywhere else to put them hehe.

So when i get the new drives in and create the raid stipe, i gota install win7 64 bit again and then get ready for some serious overclocking and benching!

I'm sure all that fun wont happen again till late tonight/tomorrow. :/

Sure looks good and cant wait to get the lighting in.. which i might try right now while my son takes his nap.
