The Official Single 295, and Dual 295 Vantage Score Thread - Thursday, November 05, 2009 7:01 AM ( #1 )
*** nVidia's current FlagShip GPU, is the GTX 295. ***
Let's collect the Vantage scores, that these monsters can generate...

I will handle recording both Single 295 scores, and Dual 295 scores in this thread.

                  - The Official Single 295, and Dual 295 Vantage Score Thread -

This does not have to be a record-setting run... We just like collecting the data.

Please provide a Vantage link with post, to allow for score verification.
NOTE: Please run Vantage using the default settings.
Please run with PhysX on, the way it's meant to be played!

Help me out, and populate this line with your data, and post along with each entry:
Name ----------------- i7 920@ 2.66GHz --- (1) 295 576/1242/1026 ----- PXX,XXX
or if running (2) 295's in SLI mode:
Name ----------------- i7 965@ 3.00GHz --- (2) 295 594/1296/1026 ----- PXX,XXX
I can't count on FutureMark's page to accurately record your CPU speed, or GPU settings...

Feel free to post ONE picture of your system, if you wish.

Only the #1 slot gets their entry in RED, signifying they are our current Big Dog Woof!

Just for reference:

On Core: A 295's 55nm Core is set at 576MHz by default, on non-OC'ed cards. They have 28 ROPs, and 160 Texture Filtering Units, delivering a 92.2 GigaTexels/sec Texture Filtering Rate.

Stream Processors (Shaders): The 295 runs at 1242MHz, with a total of 480 processing cores, 240 on each card.

On Memory: The 295 has 1792MB's of GDDR3 memory, with a 448-bit (BUS). This delivers 224 GB/s of bandwidth. The memory clock is set to 999MHz by default.
A 295 has N2C RAM, which is rated up to 1200MHz, (2400MHz effective).

Power Connectors: (1) 6 Pin, and (1) 8 pin.

ORIGINAL: DuckieHo

The way the technology works is this (in layman's terms)....

The same data gets to sent to both video cards.  Each video card manipulates the data for their half of the screen for the next image.  Then the two halves get combined.   So while there is a total of 1792MB of memory, there is an effective 896MB.  Each GPU core gets its own dedicated 896MB.  This is the same with Crossfire technology.

The advantage of Crossfire or SLI is doubling the number of processing cores.  Memory size generally is not as important.

Guys, Let Me Tell You that Since I Turned up the OC on My 2 x GTX295's, My 900W/1600VA UPS has Been MAXED OUT Just having Nothing connected to the UPS But the EVGA X58 MB and the Two VC's., and Nothing Else! (My 28" Monitor is on another UPS!)

These Cards Will Pull a TREMENDOUS amount of Power when Pushed hard, even More than My Three GTX280 HC-16's Did, So I May Need to get a BIGGER UPS!

Note - Vantage scores submitted from the initial thread are found in the old section of the forum, located here:
http://www.evga.com/forumsarchive/tm.asp?m=100448234&mpage=1&key=?

I will always be proud, that the old thread had 39,842 hits when we jumped to the new forum:

Know that if you get one of the top slots on this listing, you are officially to be considered an OC'ing Rock Star!
We did have outstanding participation form the EVGA community.
As always, thanks everyone for your data.

Thanks for the post...

1 tip is if your card can do 1188 on memory, it's a good number to use and I think your score would go higher too.
(keep an eye on your GPU's temp's, and set the fan on manual to 100% while looking for a high overclock.)
I hate to see mine go too deep in the 70C range, but some other guys go higher....

What is the chance that you could start a new section for 295 co-ops since they are running about 5000 points below the dual cards.

This is your current entry...
iride4u ----------------- i7 920 D0@ 4.50GHz --- (2) 295 763/1663/1263 ----- P42,630

This is whats above...
iride4u ----------------- i7 920 D0@ 4.20GHz --- (2) 295 710/1538/1134 ----- P41,192
(No update was made)

So you don't believe that they OC as well?
I thought it was still more a lucky card thing...
Are they about 5K below a Dual?

I kind of like keeping the same format for when I put a MASTELIStogether:
http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=10409

Should I split the Co-op 295's out to another section boys?

Although I noticed I'm at the top end for my cpu speed.  guess my cpu is the bottleneck?!
