680i sli post code Wednesday, December 02, 2009 12:50 AM (permalink)
My 680i sli was running fine for about two years then one day the screen froze and  had to turn the power supply switch off to get my computer to turn off.  Now when I try to turn it back on it hangs and no video is dsplayed.  I get a post code of 29.  I have tried unplugging everyting from the board bt it gets no father then pst code 29.  I have checked my monitor and my psu but I do not know if its motherboard, my video card, or my cpu is bad.

video card :XFX 8800GTS
motherboard :  EVGA Nforce 680i sli atx
CPU: Intel E6600

Did you do any overclocking? Postcode 29 stands for: Chipset programming and CPU speed detect

Please try to reseat your CPU, clear CMOS and reboot the pc.
