460 SLI - 2nd GPU maxed usage in EVGA Precision

Just got my pair of 460 1GB SC from newegg today! First time installing anything in an SLI configuration (replacing a single 8800 GTS). I installed the latest drivers (258.96), went to nVidia control panel and enabled SLI. When I run EVGA Precision, the GPU Usage shown for the second card is maxed out - even though I'm not doing anything (haven't even loaded up a game yet). The net result is periodically it warms up enough that the fan spins up to a higher level, then turns back off. Now, again, this is my first time with SLI - is this normal?

you could try re-seating the card and see if it was a faulty connection

Hahahaha.... OK, well, this one falls squarely on me.
I did try reseating the card (and so the SLI bridge as well), no difference.
And then... I realized that I had installed Folding@Home GPU. Which did not seem to want to work on my 8800GTS, but was happily churning away with the new cards.
Hit pause on that, GPU usage immediately fell off.
Doh. Thanks anyway!
