Downloaded new version and noticed that if the fan control was altered to a different speed than what is used in the AUTO MODE the product will not hold that setting upon recycling the machine.  Had the same problem in version 1.9.3 and I thought that this would have been corrected in this version.

Also, where can we get the 480/470 skins?  I liked those but can't find were to get them again for the newer versions (vs the ones on the CD).  Thanks.

Strangely, the icon fails to show up in the Taskbar properly - showing the default icon as if the application doesn't have an icon set.  Although, when I choose it from the list, it still remains the same.  It didn't happen with the previous versions.  I've uninstalled/installed it twice and it shows the same icon.

Edit: I just read in another thread the solution, but it would be nice if these skins were also included in the latest versions.

Nice update! G15 LCD reading DX11 games is working fine now and the memory downclocking is pure win for my 2D profile .

Thank you for the new version.

I've read that 8 series gpu usage was never supported to work for old 88xx series, but it did and worked fine until recently. I have a second pc with an old 8800gt SLi setup that GPU usage worked fine on until recently. Any idea why it does not work anymore? I'm guessing either because of Precision changes or changes in the nVidia driver? Thanks..

can i just install this over 1.9.1, or do you recommend uninstalling the old version and installing 1.9.4 then?

You can uninstall the old version and you're given the option to keep all your settings intact.

I just ran my install on top of v1.9.1 and had no issues at all.

Please be specific as to what you're experiencing so that if there is a bug to be fixed, it can be. Just saying "unusable" is not at all constructive, to say the least...

I have a problem upgrading to 1.9.4...During setup it says Error opening file for writing c:\program files(x86)\Evga Precision\Bundle\OSDServer\Rtsshooks.dll             I can ignore and setup will finish which I just did. Just want to know if that is important and what I can do. Thanks

                                    The 1.9.4 readme says
Independent overclocking and fan control for multi-GPU systems. The GPUs can
be optionally synchronized and the settings can be applied synchronically to
all similar GPUs in the system absolutely transparently for the user
                                    .

I was initially very excited as it sounded like I could force a downclock of a 2nd card in 2d mode.  I don't see any controls for this though.  After reading it again carefully I'm guessing "similar GPU's" means the exact same model GPU's.  As in: if I had two gtx260's I could force downclock on the second card, but this wont be possible for a gtx260 as a primary card and a GT240 as a second card?

Thanks for the continuous development of such an awesome simple to use tool.

I dont know if its precision 194 or the new 257.15 nvidia drivers, but in metro 2033 it shows im running directx11 even tho im running in directx10 and have a nondirectx11 card.

Must be so. Metro 2033 doesn't have pure DX10 renderer. It contains only DX9 and DX11 renderering paths. What it is called DX10 in options is mode is in fact DX11 with reduced feature level:

                                        http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=3504872&postcount=53

BTW that is why it requires DX11 under Vista (i.e. latest Vista SP) to get DX10 mode unlocked on non-DX11 cards too.

is there anyway around the incompatibility with the steam overlay?(i.e. steam overlay will not display in-game, as long as precision is running, plus needs restart of game if it was already running.)

I had issues with this version

When playing dawn of war 2 my gpu usage would go down to zero randomly in last stand mode and my fps would come to a crawl, about 8-11. Alt tabbing temporarily raised fps but and gpu usage but then it would go back down to zero.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and using ccleaner afterwards and such.

Switching to MSI afterburner fixed my issue.
It appears to me that it has something to do with the OSD
As soon as i disabled precision my steam interface began to work again too.

It works fine for me, but the auto fan control features of MSI Afterburner are pretty interesting.  I might have to give that a shot.

Fan control is GONE!  I need this badly.
I went back to 1.9.1 and fan control is now missing in that version too.
Is there some setting in the registry to fix this or did the Precision utility do something to the video card?

                                                      This must get fixed.

                                                          This must get fixed.

Nobody besides you is responsible for fixing your own undersatanding. Select proper GPU to get access to fan control.

                                                          Thanks for the wise crack.
