[BUG] NEX 1500 Software and Teamspeak Wednesday, August 29, 2012 2:05 PM (permalink)
So, I found a bug!  And EVGA now knows about it!
 
When you have the SuperNOVA software up and running and attempt to run Teamspeak 3 your computer crashes.  VERY VERY ODD BUG!!!  :P
 
Talked to EVGA, and they were able to replicate it.  And were pretty baffled on why this is happening.  But they are working on it currently :)

    Did You have problem with drivres?
    Windows 7 discovers "unknown device" even after supernova software installation.

        what kind of crash are you experiencing? is it a blue screen, straight up reboot, etc? i've been experiencing reboots but i don't have teamspeak installed.

            I'm new here but having the same issue's,I boot up my computer and start supernova ,start steam,start max payne and I either get a bsod or a shutdown every time ,i have gotten both,also does it with the latest batman game.
            I have also gotten double restarts when rebooting,
            on both single and multi rail
            I do the same thing but without starting supernova and everything is stable.
            I have stopped using supernova as I don't trust it(full of bugs)

              My NEX1500 arrived before 15 minutes.
              Earlier than I thought. Finaly Serbia becomes normal country.
              Soon or tomorrow I will set pictures on My Rigs.

                I think the issue is bigger than just running supernova with teamspeak. I'm experiencing the same problems as madcheo and I've never even had teamspeak installed. I've tried numerous things:

                - switching from single rail to multi rail
                - changing the configuration in which things are plugged into the psu (from the 2nd one to 1st one on the sheet that it came with)
                - disabling sli
                - switching from multi monitor configuration to single monitor configuration
                - ran memtest for 30 minutes with no errors
                - changed nvidia power settings from performance to adaptive
                - shutdown every single background/startup application I could (including uninstalling avg)

                Basically what happens is each time I start supernova and then load up bf3 the computer reboots without fail (no BSOD, just shutdown/reboot). i haven't really tried anything else because it's so easily reproducible with just bf3. i did multiple tests where after reboot i DID NOT start supernova and was able to load the game at least 30 times in a row successfully. i then started supernova and immediately got a reboot after starting bf3. i have also experienced one reboot upon wake from sleep and one reboot when booting into another OS.

                  The problem I think is the supernova software and/or the cable connected to the USB header conflicting with addresses already on the MB.
                  I find it hard to believe that this was not caught in testing,I believe more people will have these issues as this psu gets installed in more systems, I kinda knew I couldn't be only one experiencing this,sad thing is I can't monitor anything in fear of constant reboots or bsods damaging my system as I had many trying to figure this out...

                      Add another to the list for reboots when launching BF3 while the Supernova software is running.  No problem if the software isn't loaded though, so I didn't have to pull the usb from the power supply.

                              woa, this sounds like a hardware flaw somewhere. I wonder if there is some kind of circuit that is being tripped in the unit when you exceed a certain load. Have you guys tried turning on speedstep on your cpu for testing?

                                      Ts3 and the supernova software seems to affect the csc.sys (aka client side cache) somewhere there it sorta gets a power cutoff command onto the OS.

                                      Im having the issue with ts3. Either the psu firmware or the software gets updated

                                        Any indication from EVGA when will they release a possible fix on the issue?  im confident the issue is not just Teamspeak 3, Various software and games I have encountered. funny enough, most are EA games

                                                    tbh... The PSU is fine... works 100% too... nothing wrong with it.. its just the software...
                                                     
                                                    the PSU works fine without it, you can also do with the DIP Switches if you ever want to OC or Single 12v Rails. (or use the software).
                                                     
                                                    Software is just there as a monitoring tool and abit of control (OC, Rail Settings, etc) which you can do with the DIP Switch.
                                                     
                                                     
                                                    even so, the software is the one that makes it an eye catching so they really need to fix that

                                                      glad i went with the lepa g 1600 watt instead of waiting for the evga unit  cause mine is working flawlessly :D
