I cant the "by 1080" to display, the highest res option it will give my is "by 1024 for some weird reason and it looks stupid, there are black bars/ croping down the sides of my center monitor. All of my monitors are 1080, and they are all connected throught DVI cords, two on one GPU and one on the second card. I dont know what the issue is here, any help would be appreciated. This is the non surround mode, all displays at 1080.

all 3 monitors need to be on individauls cables like both dvi/dvi d/displayport or hdmi and both dvi/ dvi d you can also buy a adapter dvi to displayport from compusa in case you only have dvi/ dvi d hook ups on your monitors i using two dvi and hdmi to run my 3d surround monitors one cable per a port on the video card to each monitor which is three cables total also heres a picture i found for 2 way

Thats weird it should be there. I know they used to have to be all the same exact make and model to run in surround, but i thought i heard that changed. Thats my only guess on why it could be messed up.

Sounds like you got the setup right limpwhip. Just make sure that GPU one (card closest to the processor) is the card that has the two DVI cables plugged into it. For your third cable, you can use either DVI port on GPU 2. This is a great reference page: http://www.nvidia.com/con...80_Mar12_rev2-2way.pdf I did notice that the middle monitor is a different make than the outside two. If the cables are done correctly, maybe we can examine the monitors more closely. Also, try to reinstall drivers as I have found this solves many an issue with surround, Lol evil edited his post and added a picture after I posted.

Thats my only guess on why it could be messed up. Actually, they used to require same synch polarity, refresh rate and support the same resolution. I don't know how much has changed but that Acer is suspect...either that or the drivers.

I figured out the issue with the black bars was with the monitors DVI input settings but they still only display at 3840x1024. The reason has to do with sync polarity I guess which I never had a problem when I was using eyefinity on ATI cards. I guess I have to find another monitor with the same exact sync polarity to make them work together in surround. I find that to be a bit annoying, but I do love me some nvidia 680s, its a love hate relationship. I can try to force a higher resolution, but I am not sure that is a good idea. Any thoughts on that?

Your Acer can be a 4th monitor as a game app or whatever. Should work with those 4G cards. Hey, what's with the product placement to the right/foreground!

Lol, I always drink beer while working on my machine ; ) and shiner is a great choice. I did look on ebay and I can get another one of these Samsung Sync Master 2333 for about $150 for a refurb. I guess they dont make them anymore. They are not the best for surround because of the large bezel, but great color and blacks.

I still have one of the early SyncMasters...the old 19 inch square one:)

Quick question on your setup. Is your middle monitor bezel in front (or behind) the side monitor bezels? They look thinner in the middle.

They meet side by side (not behind or in front). I hate to have to hide one behind another...I'm anal like that:) I had to use 3 separate stands on my desk in order to work it that way.

On the pics above the middle is in front because it has the thinnest bezel.

I had a similar issue in that I was using one 120hz monitor and 2 60hz monitors and could only get to a max resolution of 3840x1080 in NVidia control panel. I recently installed the latest beta drivers from this site and that seems to have resolved the issue for me.
