As I said, if you have a spare hdd, switch it out with your boot drive, try a fresh Vista install, with the 670 installed. (Vista is a pita, imo). I believe that 295 has a 1.0 pci-e, 670 has 3.0. While your mobo has 2.0...I have a feeling that's part of it, I had a similar issue when trying to get my 450 to work. I ended up with a paperweight shaped like a mobo, and bought my gigabyte, which saw it immediately. You could get the latest bios for your mobo, and try it...Risky, yeah, but if I read right, your mobo is a Gigabyte, which has a backup bios, so if you screw it up, it can go to the backup... Another thing you could try, download the win 8 release preview, either burn to DVD, or set up a thumb drive for boot (it's free). Install it on a spare drive, and it should see your 670, and install it. You can use this free for about a year... http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/release-preview?ocid=O_WOL_W8R_OandO_DL_EN-US
