Now let us not forget... Consoles made it to our homes (Like 3 out of 5 homes volume wise) more than a decade before Computers did... And yet here computers are. All I am saying... Everything evolves. Computers will as well. Even if that means it is on our wrist and sprays holographic images for us...

It was always a computer just more like a mca wher the warranty is voided if you open the dam thing. Now Microsoft is trying to patent the idea of upgrading a computer to keep up with multimedia......? Do I have that right? Microsoft you are learning from a bad business model, that being Apple's! If I read that patent description properly it is my understanding that if Sony allows their users to upgrade parts of their next PlayStation, Microsoft can sue them......

starsmine So defeat the purpose of a plug an play console. So... whats the reason of going console instead of PC now? Nothing. And with dedicated servers for online play on PC's there is no reason to play FPS on a console and the dedicated console players can discover the superior control of a mouse and keyboard. In all seriousness it is still cheaper to by the stock hardware config of a console and get started on gaming than buying a moderately good gaming PC. Consoles have their niche still

Consoles have their niche still Initially sure, but games are cheaper on PC and we dont have to pay for online(xbox). yes your paying less upfrount but you pay more over the long haul. Thats over 100 dollars a year on online cost, and I'll say 10 bucks a game for the sake of simplistic, so 60 bucks in game savings. Adds up fast

That's true too, but to be perfectly honest the vast majority of ocnsumers are conditioned to want their stuff then and now. They are not likely to save a few grand for a top of the line gaming PC
