EVGA Call to Arms Challenge
Thursday, July 12, 2012 7:24 AM
( permalink)
Man your battle stations! Over the past year [H] has been steadily building up support and folding power and is currently challenging EVGA's Folding @ Home Team for the #1 ranking. We here at EVGA Folding @ Home welcome that challenge and are not giving up our spot without a fight! To that end, we have created The Great [H] Challenge to track our progress in fending off the surge that [H] has mounted. You'll be able to check out our latest team stats (soon stats of each individual participant will be added), chat with other folders, and sign up to participate in the challenge and win various gift donated by our members. Stop by this thread often to let us know how you're folding and check the latest announcements for the challenge (Check the original post in this thread for a completely list of announcements). 7/12/2012 - The Call to Arms we are sending out is currently undergoing final review and should be sent out soon! When it does go out, it would be great if we could make an effort to be on the forums more frequently during that period to welcome any new or returning folders and help them get through any issues they might have getting up and running.
7/1/2012 - The challenge is officially underway! As of yesterday's rate of production, we are 80 days away from being overtaken! We've gained some ground, but have a long way to go! Thanks to everyone that has stepped up so far.
- Drougnor is working on an office move, but will be provide us with his hourly stats updates when it is completed

Hey, I definitely WON'T turn down a BR, juicy or not. Our home office move is done, everything appears to be stable, so I can throw up the stats based on those who have signed up sometime this weekend. I will do my best to get anyone who signs up after I get it running inserted into the system within 24 hours, but I really can't promise anything. I'll let you all know when the hourly postings go up! Keep on a FOLDING!!! d

Working on getting together some additional stats for our team as well as individuals. Hope to have them up and running soon. As always, if there is something you'd like to see or think would be cool for the site or the stats or whatever - just let us know. We're always looking to improve and making things more interest. I understand that a lot of people are dealing with the summer heat and we're in the midst of a week long heat wave here, but I'm keeping things running and suffering through. If you have to scale back or shut down due to the heat, that is certainly understandable. Our team has always been built around teamwork and unity. We don't have 10 million points coming from our top 10 folders, EVGA's folding team is primarily a large collection of small folders, so do what you can manage and remember every little bit counts!

I would still like to a intersecting graph if possible. Plus I was wondering if I should donate a military grade tough book. It is old and needs a drive and some way of getting the encryption key.

Kinda like my pic I do not know if it is possible or not But basically show are full points and the trend I guess now is going down or stabilizing. And how H is rising or flatting out and if maybe we intersect or turns this around. And thank you for all you do troy you are truly the man so don't stress about it its just you asked and I thought that one would be cool specifically if we turn this around and start to rise and they start to fall.

And thank you for all you do troy you are truly the man so don't stress about it its just you asked and I thought that one would be cool specifically if we turn this around and start to rise and they start to fall. While we are still losing ground to [H], our points are still increasing as are theirs. Total points kinda captures that, but not really well as the rate of overtake is over a long period of time. But if we are using fully points, neither team is going to be losing points (though we may be losing our lead). Daily production shows what is happening on a daily basis an you can see [H] was above us for a long period, but we have jumped above them briefly for a few days - hopefully the start of our turn around! I'd be happy to put together whatever graphs are possible, but I'm not sure if I answered your question or you are still looking for something else. Please let me know if you are.

Troy, can you add a column to the participants page and send me access to it so I can mark who I've added the system? That should simplify things for me over here on the tracking.

I like the Challenge, love that we are in a real competition with [H] and would love to see it stay that way too. Our rivalry for the #1 spot has now become quite entertaining to watch. When we were basically running away with the lead (month after month), it held little interest for me other than "yeah we gapped them again". With the close competition we have today between these two great teams, now it has gotten interesting again!!

I'm doing a bit here an there. It isn't much to be honest, but damned if I won't give what I can.
Man is capable of as much atrocities as he has imagination. To err is human, to blame someone else is good management skills People are, well, only human. We know that. The rule of law is borne out in identifying, condemning, and punishing those who violate the standards on which we all agree. This is exactly what we do in America. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.

Every WU counts, and we're all fighting the summer heat here so do what you can. We're not asking anyone to go all out and break the bank - that's not how our team works. A large number of small folders can overcome a small number of large folders! If everyone steps up and makes an effort to do the best within their abilities we will turn this around!

I've took out extra hardware from my main rig, only to place the low-end GPU in the folding rig. It will only add 1.5k~2k PPD, but I guess its better than nothing. Isn't it about time for the Time Zone Challenge to come up? I got possible gift donations this time around. An EVGA GTX470 SC, Intel QX6700 rig w/ EVGA 9800GT (thats if it doesn't sell first), Asus 945 board w/ ram & Pen 4 2.8GHz HT, and a PenD 940 3.2GHz.
