Not global warming, more like El Nino. In a nutshell, warmer ocean temps in the pacific lead to a rise in summer temps for much of the continental U.S.

clo007 bullet0801 Missouri = worst place to be when it's 105-110 outside. So much humidity. :/ go to Houston when it is over 100 and you will think different. BTW, we had a cold front come in Fort Worth...it is currently only 98 outside :) I can say for sure that Texas gets unbearable. Once , just once , I was in a vehicle just south of Dallas , headed south to San Antonio where I had to wait for a long period of time. It was scorching hot , over 100+ and I couldn't believe that with good air conditioning , even with my shirt off in shorts and no socks , every pore on my back was leaking water. I have been to Jamaica etc. and not felt such a melting sweat. It was so bad I was pouring whole tall cans of Bud down my throat and it just wouldn't stop flowing. I had to get out and buy more Bud several times. And I don't drink. And if you even opened the window an inch , you got the drift of how humid the air was , and settled for the Bud and Pore/Pour deal instead. Forget about it.

This summer is cooler than most over here, so global warming isn't affecting me too bad.

Heat isn't that bad unless it's really humid. That is what kills me. I'd rather it be 100 outside and decently dry than 90 with high humidity. If it feels like I'm swimming through hot water outside as I walk, it isn't nice!

It's been around 100 in Denver for the last week or two. Last week we had to break down and buy a portable AC unit to deal with it. What sucked was the windows in our duplex are from the 50's so a window unit wouldn't fit on the part that opens.

If it feels like I'm swimming through hot water outside as I walk, it isn't nice! Rather be sitting in a hot tent in Kuwait then in the humid heat of Camp Lejeune. Heat index of 115 here.

I have done both, and while both are unpleasant, the dry heat is much more preferable imo.

When I lived in Ohio I remember Hot summers...I lived in Ashtabula/Conneaut area right next to the PA border, I grew up there right on Lake Erie...Not sure how far back but I do remember 102-103 days but they were rare....Most of the time in the 80,90s and near 100. And winters were really cold and there was tons of snow. Now here in Vancouver we are going through some sort of cold bs. All it has been doing is raining and it's cold...Really messed up compared to the past 5-6 years since Iv'e been here. This and last year have sucked in the weather area.

I'd take Lejeune. If purgatory is real, it's located in Kuwait.

Last week in Houston we had 4 or 5 consecutive days where it was between 102 and 109F and 60-70% humidity so it was just like a sauna. Night time wasn't any better it wouldn't cool off much either. lows were 92-93F.
