560 performance question

Okay well to start i have a evga 560 non ti 2gb oc edition. when im playing Tera an mmo, sometimes when theirs events and theirs a ton of people around i starting lagging pretty bad and fps is 1-5 and thats with turning the settings to the lowest. When I check evga precision it shows my gpu usage anywhere form 10%-50% and my gpu clock is only at 405mhz and the card is clocked at 865mhz i think. the rest of my specs are i3-2100 3.1ghz and 8gb ram 1333mhz, my cpu usage ranges from 30-0% and my ram stays at 50%. I would think my video card should be at max speed and under 99% usuage? and that, that would increase my fps in these times.

You have the stuck clock gpu bug. Update to latest beta drivers. It fixes the problem. This has been a problem with cards that are oc from the factory. I personally do not have this problem with latest whql. So it is a hit and miss for people.

well im still encoutering this probelm, i was at the nexus event in tera tonight and i was checking evga precision and i noticed while the graphics were turned up high the card would stay clocked at 865, but when i lowered the graphics settings the clock woudl drop to 400something. I dont see why it does this i mean im lagging gettin poor fps about 2-8 it ranges because thers a ton of ppl but my cpu nor my ram is maxed out they are no where near is but my gpu is not maxed out and its downclocking for some reason. help please

ramsees sandybridge i3 2100 3.1ghz, what i dont get is why sometimes the card will be running full clock and sometimes its not when it really should be A single card will downclock when doing 2D work. In 3D (Which would be video games), It will go to default clock. MMOs and Free to plays often have jumpy support for graphics cards. For example BlackLight Retribution has horrible SLI config, often lowering your frames vs a single card. Also, MMOs can take alot of CPU usage. 100s of players can take it toll on a cpu. You have a good one, but its kinda weak for that many players. You could be CPU bottle-necking.

If so, what is the temp of the GPU when it downclocks to 405mhz.??

even with the newest drivers my card still locks up occasionally at 405mhz when playing games while im getting bad fps. This card was disapointed wasnt much of an upgrade over my 450gts. Not from what ive seen in performance playing the same game on both cards. also to bdary, yes i monitor my temps before i start a game i open precision x and turn fan speed to 75% and i have good case with nice airflow and the card never goes over 55c.

Looks like your temps are plenty good. Have you tried forcing "Maximum performance" mode in the NVCPL for the game your having problems with? Worth a try if you haven't tried it yet.

Power performace is max GPU clock is stuck at 405MHZ. even when the setting is set at 700 or defualt value (900) with Precision X. FPS rate target is not turned on. Computer stuff from dxdiag and Nvidia info on pastebin: sf1empWD

Update of what I noticed. It seems minecraft is the culprit that locks my GPU at 405MHZ weather its the mod optifine or just normal minecraft rendering that is doing it, is the next question. now the game did crash on me or rather the Video card did. I got an error message that the driver had too many errors. who else is playing minecraft/modded one?
