Sound Issues, please help :)

I've been having an very odd issue with the Onboard sound on my z77 FTW. No matter what i do i cannot get analog sound to work. It only shows Digital as being active, even though I have a headset plugged into the analog ports.
Is there any way to make the digital inputs turned off and have the analog speakers and microphone to work?
I've tried - uninstalling / reinstalling Realtek HD Audio driver - Bios upgrade / downgrade / bios reinstall(s). still no go! But if i put in a headset with it's own onboard audio it works fine.

have you went into windows control panel , then sound settings, and changed your default device?

Tried 4 headsets, all couldn't be detected by realtek. 3 USB 1 non USB. For some reason this board thinks, front panel is on, when it isnt. I've reflashed the bios so many times, reformatted windows 7, tried XP no go. Did constant driver reinstalls. Any clue on why i cant get this to work? Evga support im going back and fourth with, and still not working :(
