'Jurassic Park 4' Moves Forward with New Writers Thursday, June 21, 2012 3:28 PM (permalink)
Finally I was wondering if they ever planned on making another JP. Hopefully it's done right very excited about this news.

After years of starts and stops, Universal's Jurassic Park franchise is finally continuing with a fourth film, now that Rise of the Planet of the Apes writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver have signed on. More after the break.
Deadline reports that "While Universal Pictures has been trying all summer to generate new franchises, the studio is getting moving with the fourth installment of its biggest one, Jurassic Park. Universal is setting Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver to write the script for the fourth film, which will be produced by Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy. Spielberg won't direct this one."
"The first three films, which started with the Spielberg-directed 1993 blockbuster Jurassic Park based on the bestselling novel by Michael Crichton, have grossed over $1.9 billion worldwide collectively. Universal is rereleasing the original film in 3D on July 19, 2013."
Rise of the Planet of the Apes won some deserved praise for its straightforward, relatively intelligent storytelling (even if the film's ending was a bit muddled), so my interest in the Jurassic Park franchise is somewhat renewed by this news. Here's hoping they find a director who's equally promising.

I'm looking forward to it as well, meaning I'm avidly avoiding any news or rumors regarding it.  My moto is to not expect anything in particular, therefore I can't be let down.

I never saw part 3 in theaters, I wish I did, it was better than the 2nd.  Part 3 was very different and totally unexpected.

Not that anything was wrong with the second, was I bothered to read the book prior, i.e. stupid move on my part because I didn't know the first one was based on a book.  I'm glad I didn't read it first.

Reading the book first always ruins the experience because there is no way anyone can dignify the 2-3 hours that can be delivered to threaters with the 8+ hours it takes to read and build your own idea of what's to come.
How CPU watts relate to degrees? - How can overclocking affect CPU lifespan? - TEC/Peltier definitions, formulas and temperature estimations

For Intel processors, 0.123 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].  This includes around 30% overhead, so it isn't minimum for operation.  TDP is not actual per CPU, it is a range for multiple processors to qualify for the same OEM cooler and power rating, and allows Intel to debut future processors in the same TDP.

That really does sound promising; I really liked Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

Why cant they just let things die? The first movie was fantastic but the other two were kinda meh... just let it go man.

Simple, Hollywood is running out of ideas.
Look how many remakes we have had lately
                Conan
                True Gritt
                Robin Hood
                Spiderman
                Total Recall
And more I can't think of

Weather its rebooting movies, adding prequels or sequels, Hollywood is doing it.
When is the last time we can really say we had a movie that has not been created before become a huge success ?
James Cameron has done it with Titanic, The Abyss, and Avatar.
Steven Spielberg has done it with Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan.
Christopher Nolen seems to be landing on the money rebooting the Batman movies.
What do all 3 of these directors have in common ?
great cameras and great camera skills.
No cheap walmart 1080p camara that they used running around in Battle L.A. or Contraband. Seriously I do not give people credit who do not put effort into cinamatography. Shaky cameras are a real shame.
There is not one greatest picture award or nomination for somebody who used a shaky camera.
I am an audio/video enthusiast, who appreciates films as a work of art, and a way to tell a great story.
Just wish todays movies could be more movie like, and stop focusing on 1st person view like a video game. Shaky cameras do not look good on big screens. The quality sucks, the action sequences are mostly interrupted by the fact you can't see whats going on.

Perfect example, go watch The Bourne Identity, then go watch The Bourne Supremecy. What the hell heppned ?

Chances are nobody will read this, but I just thought I'd give my 2 cents

I agree with you on the whole re-hashing of movies.  It's getting old fast, and it's getting worse and happening to movies that came out not too long ago.....I'm waiting for a remake of Avatar to be appearing in the next couple of months.

As for the shaky camera use....I agree with you to a point.  It's way overused IMO, but it does add something to some situations, sequences, and in some cases almost entire movies.  Discretion is needed in it's use.....I don't need to have the world look like it's experiencing a 10.0 Earthquake while someone is calmly walking across the street......yes, you Cloverfield....although I kind of enjoyed the movie regardless.

I don't mind if things look frantic and all over the place while a few thousand people are scrambling across a beachhead while being pelted with mortar fire, heavy machine gun barrages, sniper fire, and aerial strafing.....like Saving Private Ryan, which was one of the biggest user of the shaky camera, and it earned a nomination or two from some academy or something.

Most of the reboots I'm not keen on, but Star Trek was great and Robocop & a few others look promising.

I hadnt heard about JP4 yet, but now that I have, I'm excited.

Well, my biggest issue with the JP movies was those annoying little kids. I was hoping that they would get eaten most of the time. Since they are grown up, I guess I will be interested.

I  stopped reading that after Avatar.

Sure avatar looked pretty, but the story was far from original.  I like dinosaurs,  I'd gladly watch a dinosaur movie under the Jurassic Park name so long as it's awesome.  No need to reinvent the wheel every single time.

I think so far this year, Iron Sky has been one of the most original and enjoyable to watch.

I actually did read all of that and agree completely, I hated Cloverfield due to the shaky camera... that and it never provided any answers, waste of time IMO. I also agree that Star Trek is one of the few good reboots. I dont know about you guys but i'm also getting tired of all the superhero movies.

Avengers was pretty weak, Transformers 3 stole it's thunder.  The best parts of the film were the few with The Hulk.

I liked Prometheus, but as others have noted, it is HEAVILY symbolic, so unless you're prepared to delve into the hidden/not-so hidden meanings within the film, you may or may not like it.

MIB III kinda made me cry, so that's a win

Wrath of the Titans was pretty to look at (Dem particles, Dat flame FX!) but the story was slow, action not very packed, but a good message I suppose.  I saw it at the dollar theater so not too bad.

21 Jump Street was a reboot not afraid to make fun of itself as being a reboot and in fact, it was quite funny.

I saw Think Like a Man because of Kevin Hart and he never let me down.

That's my boy was pretty enjoyable, So long as you know what you're getting yourself into :D
