In 2010 JeffreyHam helped me diagnose and fix a memory timing issue with my computer that was causing random hard resets. He was able to help me get a machine that frustrated me greatly running smoothly.
Recently I had the smart idea to upgrade that same machine (from 32bit Vista) to the new Windows 8 RC x64, as well as install new memory and a fresh hard drive. I swapped out my old 2x2GB Patriot PDC34G1333LLK DDR3 RAM with a pair of 2x4GB G.Skill Sniper F3-10666CL9D-8GBSR. The new memory was stable in Vista 32bit but only half was recognized (4gb). Windows 8 RC x64 recognizes all 8GB of course but unfortunately the machine freezes up every now and then and is generally unstable again.
I have been browsing this forum and others looking for a solution but have come up blank. I tried playing around with my timings and increasing the voltage to the memory but haven't been able to get the computer stable again. Any chance anyone has any ideas of what I could try next?
