Gtx 670 FTW temps.

Hey I just dont know here, everyone else is reporting idle temps at 30c, yet my idle temps are 48c-52c at auto fan speed. at 50 fan speed my temps are just sitting at 40c exactly and wont drop lower. temps were both like this in non sli and sli... Max settings in nvidia and during gameplay my gpu has been sitting at 90%+ usage at all times which seems odd to me since Tera isnt that much of a usage game. And temps at fan speed 50 are hitting high 80's. my case is antec 1200, with good airflow. all fans at max speed all the time. Room temp is always below 70F / 21C. anyone know whats up with these high temps? and why gpu usage is sitting above 95% for both cards in a non demanding game like tera?

Why are you only running 50% fan speed?

That's the crappy reference EVGA cooler for ya ;p. I have a gigabyte and it's dead cool. Idles 28-30C and about 55-60 in BF3 maxed out. I am also in a Antec 1200. Tera is like 50's for me with all the eye candy turned on. BTW Tera is a great game =D

I have the reference cooler GTX 670 4 gb. I idle between 32 and 34c @ 35% fan. Ambient room temp is usually between 74-78F

My 670 FTW idles nice and cool around 32-34 and never gets above 66-68 under load. For the THIRD time, why are you limited to 50% fan speed?

my gtx 670 4 gb SC 2-way sli go up so high. Now that it's officially summer here, temp inside the case is 38C when gaming and GPU #1 reaches 90C, GPU#2 reaches 86C in my 800D case when I'm gaming crysis 2. Fan speed for both cards were at 80%. I'm so gonna watercool both cards as soon as EK releases the waterblock. Right now temp outside the house in san jose is 91F, that's 33C.

Jyles it is vita, btw do u have all settings forced in nvidia Control panel? or have them on default, plus do you use maximum performance or adapative? I use max performance. I do not run my own fan profile and everything is on auto. I use EVGA precision X for GPU fan and stuff. I can download it since I have owned many EVGA cards in the past. Their utility is waaaaayy better then the Gigabyte one, I will say that. The gigabyte boards works wonderful with Prec X also. My fan in BF3 never goes over 55 ish percent. Dead quite also. My H60 cooler is louder then the card is ever. I also boost to 1202 out the box and I was sooo happy with it I have a second one ordered from the EGG coming tomorrow. I just hope the 2GB Vram is not to much of a set back. I do run three screens. I'm sure if the 480's could run BF3 on high, ill be fine with 670's.

You have 3 slots between each Pcie so i'll wager a guess is that your room is too hot. Install an Air conditioner

+1 to the air conditioner works great. Also my 2 670's idle about 32c and at load max I've seen it 71 but i got them both over locked. The OP needs to max a fan profile.

My bad i read wrong from jacob No vapor chamber. It is identical to the stock GTX 680 cooler. Overall it is about 30% more effective than the standard 670 cooler.

I'm getting idle temps between 29~34º with auto fan (usually at 30% fan speed) and full load about 70º with 60% (manual) fan speed.

I wouldn't say it's 30% better than the reference cooler. I mean I'm currently idling at 33c right now @ 30% fan. My ambient room temp is at 76°F or 24°c right now which I consider pretty warm. Usually sit between 64-67°c @ 65% fan speed at full load (Battlefield 3).

Did you put on auto and then clicked apply in evga precision x? Otherwise the fanspeed just stays on manual...

You didn't list your power supply which is #1 consideration on VGA temperature inconsistencies. Having an underpowered supply can cause your card to work harder and get hotter.
