ASMedia ASM1042 on board USB 3.0 - Firmware v111222_0E_02_5E - Driver v1.14.8.0
I don't recommend to use that Driver, it gave me issues before. The one on evga support is good enough. No issues at all.

After I flashed the firmware I wanted to try out the latest drivers again. If I run into any problems I will revert to the old EVGA drivers. The reason I reverted before was because of the power exceeded messages that kept popping up. So far so good.

It's like a big old puzzle. Trying to figure out which pieces fit!

If you have a Windows 7 ISO file image then you can use the free Microsoft tool to automatically create a bootable USB drive for it.

It can create a DVD or bootable USB device from an ISO image.

I did try that but it still locked up.. That is what confused me at first, but i then looked back in the BIOS and it had stated enabled.. i think my board is defective.. or something. I am tring to use the hirems but i can get it to read my flash drive it needs to be fat32 right?

yeah fat32 is only readable in dos

you can't find it out there, from what i know its only viewable in DOS with their ASmedia update kit. the d.bat should be the one that shows you the versions.
